Brianna, originally from Las Vegas, NV, embarked on her educational journey towards becoming a midwife when she moved to Santa Barbara in 2015. There she studied and earned her BS in Psychology. In 2017, she attended a DONA doula training, a pivotal step in her commitment to supporting women during labor. As a student, Brianna volunteered at a local maternity home, offering prenatal nutrition classes and doula services. In 2019, she expanded her impact by volunteering with AmeriCorps as a Community Health Worker in Southern Utah, addressing social determinants of health. This experience underscored the strength of community and the importance of continuity of care. After completing her 12-month term, Brianna moved to San Diego to attend Midwifery school and commenced her clinical placement with San Diego Midwife in 2020. As a midwife, Brianna blends her foundation in psychology with specialized midwifery training, emphasizing a compassionate and empathetic approach. Her dedication extends to providing holistic care throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum phases, emphasizing both the physical and emotional well-being of mothers. Brianna is ardent about empowering women and ensuring that each birthing experience is a medically sound and emotionally enriching journey. I am a Registered Nurse and a mother of 5 boys (3 on earth and 2 angels in heaven). When my first was born he had a NICU stay of one week. The Lactation Consultant on duty empowered me to breastfeed him and gave me tools so that I could bring him home sooner than expected. She inspired me to follow a career into lactation. Then after having breastfed my own children and developing a passion for helping others, I went on to become a IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). Hey hey! I'm Dairian — an occupational therapist (OT) since 2013, IBCLC since 2021, and trained postpartum doula. I believe maternal and infant health are intricately linked, and my work reflects that. I specialize in lactation, infant feeding, and infant development, with a focus on concerns like tongue ties and bottle refusal. I also offer hands-on manual therapy, including craniosacral therapy and myofascial release, to support the whole feeding relationship.
