Nikki Young

Nikki is an incredible doula, helping me achieve the birth experience of my dreams. Highly recommend! At 40, I became a first-time mom. As a later-in-life mom, all my childbearing friends have had kids before me, which means I’ve heard a lot about the many ways birth can go sideways. I hoped hiring a doula would help prevent some of the worst, especially as a “high risk pregnancy.” Nikki has a long list of qualifications and previous successes that made her the best candidate for the job. Nikki was a godsend who listened to my preferences, helped me build a birth plan, provided thoughtful information to help me prepare, and held my hand through labor. Her advice put me in a great frame of mind for my induction and her hands-on guidance helped me get through a largely unmedicated labor. She snapped a series of incredible pics as I pulled my son into the world. From start to finish, my whole experience with Nikki left me feeling empowered and powerful. I’m one of the few women in my life who’ve had a phenomenal birth experience, and I know it’s a huge credit to her. Thanks, Nikki <3

Nikki was fantastic from start to finish. Having a doula who is also an RN was a game changer. She helped us navigate the hospital system, translated from medical lingo, and brought a grounded, practical approach. But she also had the right amount of holistic, vibe-conscious energy that we were looking for. I am so grateful for Nikki! First, all her pre-labor work was invaluable. I honestly don't know how people make it through labor without it. She spent significant time with us 1:1 helping us to develop a birth plan and and came to our home to help us learn how to most effectively use the last couple weeks of pregnancy to prepare my body, mind, and Baby for delivery. Second, she stuck by my side for over 40 hours of labor following an induction. We would have been lost without her. She gave needed advice and helped us understand our options. She assisted the progression of my delivery by offering tools and techniques (some of which led my water to break without intervention!!). On top if that, she created a soothing atmosphere with sounds, scents, and low lights. Finally, she had great rapport with many of the hospital staff. One l & d nurse even commented that she would hire Nikki if she ever had another baby. Thank you Nikki!

Here goes the most important review I will ever write. It is hard to put words to how incredible of a human Nikki is. This work is truly her purpose. I can’t imagine my birth without Nikki there. We had a high risk pregnancy and had to be in Vegas for care and birth. I found Nikki and I don’t even want to think about what would have happened if I didn’t. Nikki has so much experience and knowledge. It is beyond helpful that she was an L&D nurse. Everyone at the hospital completely respected her and listened to her (Sunrise hospital). I had to get induced and she was there every step of the way. She sets up the room for you and it feels so relaxing. Every person that came in the room immediately relaxed and felt happier. She has all of the equipment to help get you through labor. She moves you into positions and does everything she can do help the process be peaceful and productive. I seriously trust Nikki with my life. She made sure I understood the risks, benefits and alternatives of literally every single thing that could or did happen. My babies heart rate dropped a few times and she sat and stared at the screen for hours monitoring baby. Again, it’s hard to put into words and truly makes me feel so emotional because I have so much love and respect for this human. She was also there for me every step of the way leading up to the birth. Her birthing class and home visit were so valuable to my partner and I. She shines in every aspect of this work. If you’re reading this, consider yourself lucky you have found Nikki. I genuinely would never want to do this with anyone else. She is beyond special. Nikki, I love you so much and I will always be eternally grateful for you.

Nikki was amazing beyond words!! Her knowledgeable and calm approach to labor, and all the prep work she helped with in advance, made my labor feel so much more manageable. Nikki is an expert in labor positioning as well as labor preparation. She stayed by my side for hours, rotating me in a bunch of positions to get my baby boy to descend. Her experience as a nurse gives her credibility in the delivery room. She was able to translate what was going on so I could be fully informed informed and make the right decisions for me and baby. When I interviewed Nikki to be my doula, I immediately sensed that she was the type of person I wanted supporting me during my most vulnerable moments in the labor room. From the start, I noticed her extensive expertise, experience, and passion for guiding the labor process. Just wanted to share my positive review about Nikki she is the best I felt very supported during pregnancy and during labor she supported me in everything I wanted and also made sure I was making the right choice on everything reminding me to stop and think about my choices because during labor everything seems rushed and it could feel like you don't have a choice but you do and Nikki was there to remind me of that! Nikki, was beyond the experience I’ve ever expected my labor to be. She was so patient, catered to my concerns and made my whole journey amazing and fun! I never had a doula before, and wanted one after having two births that made a traumatic mark. This was my husband’s first baby - and when I say she showed up and showed out she did nothing but that and more! She handled my stress well, promoted other options that would help me through pain and a healthy delivery. My baby was born on a full moon as I wished and if I ever get pregnant again she will forever be my doula! Words cannot express the overwhelming gratitude I feel from having Nikki as my doula. From the support with developing a birth plan, to her birth education course, the confidence I felt going into my labor was astounding. This was my second birth, and I knew that things don't always go as planned. Fortunately, Nikki was there to ensure that we tried what we could to honor the plans that were reasonable in spite of any circumstances or risks that came up. I was determined to have a vaginal birth and Nikki was on top of making sure we tried everything to make that happen. When I was unable to speak up for myself in certain situations, she was a powerful advocate and made sure I received the care I deserved. On top of her professionalism, Nikki is also personable and easy to get along with, making it all the more easy to feel comfortable in her presence during such vulnerable moments. The atmosphere in my room was total vibes. So much so, that anyone who entered felt compelled to make a comment on how nice it smelled and felt in there. Moreover, Nikki was able to capture intimate moments during delivery that I would never have gotten to see otherwise. I refer to the photos often and reminisce on the badass I am and how beautiful childbirth can be. Thank you Nikki. I am beyond grateful to have had Nikki as my doula for the birth of my son. I know for sure that I would not have the amazing birth experience that I did have without her. Nikki is so knowledgeable and it honestly even felt like she knew more than the nurses that I had during labor. I wanted a natural birth without any drugs or even an IV. She made sure that happened.. even when nurses tried to push an IV, discussed unnecessary Pitocin, and even when I, myself, was asking for an epidural at 8cm. Nikki was so supportive and incredibly prepared. She came equipped with all of the right props and tools to ease labor pains from essential oils, calming music and lights, a birthing ball, a peanut ball, etc. She also was verbally motivating. Any obstacle we encountered, she had a solution. I had back labor and she had tools and tricks to suppress that pain. The nurse was having issues with the cordless fetal monitoring as I was in active labor and Nikki made sure I wasn’t on my back to deliver my baby by getting me on my side with a peanut ball for support. Nikki made my birth plan come to life and I know if it weren’t for her that it wouldn’t have. In addition, during pregnancy, Nikki provided an immense amount of resources and support to prepare for labor and postpartum. I was induced with my first son and I was more scared of labor this time around. I feel that all of the resources and support provided by Nikki revived my confidence, calmed my anxiety, and helped ensure that I went into labor naturally this time around. This review was hard to write because anything I say doesn’t really do justice to how amazing my pregnancy and labor worked out because of Nikki. I truly cannot thank Nikki enough!

Where do I even begin first off? If I could leave 10 stars I would Nikki brought all the good vibes and positive energy. I’m so glad I had her in the room. It literally just felt like we were hanging out and having a good time the entire time having a Doula was one of the best decisions I could’ve made and I’m so glad I did. I was so nervous going into labor, but Nikki being there really really helped me calm my nerves and the stretch, stretches and exercises that we did and all her expertise really came in handy. I really can’t think her enough if you’re thinking about getting a Doula don’t hesitate to do it and I plan on recommending everyone of my soon to be pregnant and are already pregnant friends to Nikki because it was a game changer! From day 1 she was kind and friendly and all throughout my pregnancy she was only a call or text away, I was high risk and my labor was not the easiest. Nikki made sure she pushed my labor in the right direction when I gave up hope and thought I’d have to do a CSection. I had the best experience with her. When I came to her I was adamant about having a doula that could advocate for me. I was pregnant with twins at the time and was dealing with doctors wanting to do nothing but schedule me c-sections and give me pitocin. I didn’t want either. She advocated for me and luckily my sons were head down but I honestly feel like her methods that she gave me to help move them down into birth canal helped it become possible for me to give birth to my twins vaginally. If I could give her 20 stars I would. Ms Nikki made my birthing experience so smooth and peaceful. During my pregnancy & from the moment she arrived to the hospital I was at peace. She got me prepared for labor with many different methods from her teas, to tasty stuffed dates and etc. Once I told her I was in labor she arrived in a very timely manner to the hospital and set the mood!! The lights were turned down low to help me relax as well as smell goods & candles and she helped assist me back and forth from her suggested positions to help the labor process. My nurses were trying to PUSH unnecessary labor methods on me to speed up my labor process (which was already progressing fast) and Ms Nikki spoke up for me & made me feel comfortable turning down unnecessary meds being thrown at me. I could go on but it would be a BOOK!! lol I’m very thankful for her and I will proudly have her as my doula during my next pregnancy as well!!!
