The cost of a midwife in North Bend, WA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Yes, insurance often covers midwifery care in North Bend, WA, especially for prenatal visits, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and sometimes newborn care, but the amount covered depends on your specific plan and whether the midwife is in network; under many plans, certified nurse-midwives are more commonly covered than other types of midwives, and for a typical vaginal birth with prenatal and postpartum care, total charges can range roughly from $3,000 to $9,000 or more, with insurance potentially covering a large share after deductibles, copays, and coinsurance, while out-of-pocket costs can range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, and home birth or birth center services may have more limited coverage than hospital-based midwifery care.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in North Bend, WA, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Neha Chinchanikar

Packages from $2,400 · $70/hr

Hi there! I am Neha, a birth and postpartum doula based in Sammamish, WA. My path to becoming a doula was shaped by my own births and medical experiences at Northwest Hospital, Swedish Issaquah, and Virginia Mason. I know the power of a doula because I lived it twice, whose presence completely transformed my experience. She was the anchor that kept me grounded, providing the safety I needed to trust my body. I know that even the most empowered birth can be followed by a challenging recovery. My own postpartum transitions were marked by the reality of Postpartum Anxiety (PPA), a difficult breastfeeding journey, and a 5 finger diastasis recti that required patience and dedicated healing. These challenges were humbling, but they were also my greatest teachers. My Commitment to You: Full-Circle Care: Dedicated support throughout your pregnancy, labor and postpartum check-ins as you settle into your new life at home. Cultural Heart: A deep respect for your family's traditions and a commitment to honoring them from pregnancy through postpartum. Advocate and Empower: Empower you with resources and advocate for your choices in the birthing room.

Neha was a great birth doula. I wouldn't have been able to labor at home without her. She used many methods to help me cope with my pain. She was there from when I just had some cramps. When I texted her my symptoms, she quickly arrived at our home, helped time the contractions, poured ice over my body to distract me from the pain, used essential oils, and help me use the TENS machine. She helped my partner support me by suggesting position changes, feeding, and watering me. She gave me a list of aftercare items that have been very important for my recovery. All I desired for my birth was a quick labor and vaginal delivery, and Neha was essential in making that possible. I am very thankful to her, I wish everyone had someone like Neha to support them during their births.

Hi! I’m a birth doula, childbirth educator, and lactation counselor with a background in osteopathic medicine and a deep passion for perinatal support. During medical school, I saw how the way we approach and nurture pregnancy and birth can shape early family experience, creating lasting ripple effects. In addition to birth work, I lead parent support groups through PEPS and am a mom of two teens. I understand how unpredictable and transformative the journey into parenthood can be, and my role is to help you feel grounded in the moment and ready for what comes next. Every parent brings their own values and lived experiences—sometimes joyful, always complex—and I offer steady support and advocacy tailored to your unique path.

Working with Jen was one of the best decisions I made for my birth. From the start, she brought a calm, confident, and grounding presence that felt so reassuring. She took the time to understand not just what my birth plan was, but why it mattered to me (which I think made all the difference when things didn’t go exactly as I originally hoped). Throughout pregnancy, she stayed in close contact and was always available when I felt worried or confused. Her guidance through the confusing days of pre/early labor and her arrival as soon as we needed more support made me feel really cared for. During labor, Jen really helped me cope with contractions and stay calm in between. She helped me get into a good flow and pulled many helpful things out of her toolbox (both metaphorically and literally) without disrupting my rhythm. Hospitals make me uneasy, but she helped me stay focused no matter what was going on around me. She kept me grounded when things got intense and I doubted myself. Jen interacted effortlessly with the medical team and brought up helpful questions I wouldn’t have known to ask (monitoring, IV placement, positioning especially during pushing). Between preparation during prenatal meetings and Jen’s encouragement and advocacy during my birth, I was able to stay confident and really be in the moment when my baby arrived. I can’t imagine going through pregnancy and birth without her.

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we hired a birth doula, but I can’t imagine our labor without Haley. She supported both my wife and me from day one. During labor, she stayed calm, guided us through every stage, and helped me be the partner I wanted to be. Her experience and steady presence made our hospital birth feel so much more peaceful and empowering. The biggest thing I noticed was how safe and confident my wife felt with Haley by her side. If you’re looking for a compassionate birth doula, pregnancy support, or labor support, I can’t recommend Haley enough. She was one of the best investments we made for our growing family.
