How Much Does a Birth or Postpartum Doula Cost in Olympia, WA?

Rae supported us as a doula and birth photographer with the birth of our second daughter at St. Anne's in Burien, WA. Her presence in listening to our previous birthing experience, and our goals for this one, made us feel seen, known and held at each step of the way. Tiffany (birthing person) experienced Rae's care as steady, grounding and affirming, and feels that it helped her stay embodied even amidst intensity. Thomas (birthing partner) felt Rae's responsiveness was stellar, and that her instructions during labor were clear, pracitcal and kind. Rae's photography beautifully captured our perinatal chapter and served to support us in integrating our experience, as well as celebrating and honoring, the arc of our journey.

Bethany is truly such a gem, and I genuinely don’t know what my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience would have looked like without her. I went through my pregnancy without the support of a partner, and having Bethany by my side made such a huge difference in my experience. She was so kind, caring, warm, and genuinely supportive from the very beginning. Having her with me at appointments made me feel like I wasn’t navigating everything alone, and during labor, her presence brought me so much comfort. She supported me, helped advocate for me, and made sure I felt heard and cared for during such an important and vulnerable time. What makes her even more special is that her care never felt like it was simply a job. She genuinely cared about me, my baby, and my family. She was so sweet and loving with my older children and made them feel included and comfortable throughout the experience as well. Even postpartum, she continued to show up with the same warmth and thoughtfulness, whether that was checking in on me, supporting me as a new mom again, or even showing me how to make nourishing meals. I feel like I gained a lifelong friend in Bethany. I will forever be grateful that she was part of this chapter of my life, and I appreciate her more than I could ever fully put into words. Any family lucky enough to have her as their doula is getting someone incredibly special. I cannot recommend her enough.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Jaya! She was a wonderful addition to our birth team and made both pregnancy and labor a comfortable and safe experience. Throughout pregnancy, Jaya was a great communicator. She was always willing to answer our questions and checked in on us as we got closer to the end of our pregnancy. When we met in person to discuss our vision for labor and delivery, she shared an immense amount of information with us and helped us craft a birth plan. She was respectful of all of our wishes and helped us to feel informed and prepared. We were unexpectedly induced before the end our pregnancy. When we found this out, Jaya immediately called us to talk things through. She was kind and gentle and made sure we had the information we needed. When she joined us in the hospital during labor, she brought with her a balance of both calmness and positivity. As labor progressed and we had to make decisions about care, she again made sure we had the right knowledge to make informed decisions. She supported both me and my partner as we navigated the challenges of labor, and helped to bring both joy and serenity into the room. Overall, Jaya was incredibly supportive, kind, and knowledgeable. She made us feel safe, listened to, and empowered. We would highly recommend her for birth doula services, and are very grateful for her support and wisdom.

I have had such a positive, stress-free postpartum experience, and that is in very large part thanks to Aijanae. I feel so lucky to have found her and her team - from the moment I first talked to her, I knew I would want her to support me and my family. She exudes calm, and she is incredibly knowledgeable, and she is very generous with her time. Aijanae supported me for the first 6 weeks with overnights, and then her team (Jazzy, Wren, and Hailey) joined to support for the following 4 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed Aijanae's company during the middle of the night feedings and so appreciated all her advice on breastfeeding and newborn care (and appreciated her folding laundry, doing some meal prep, and cleaning pump parts). Aijanae really cares about you as a new mother and goes out of her way with texts, phone calls, and in-person conversations to make sure you feel heard and supported. My experience with Jazzy, Wren, and Hailey was also great. They are all clearly experts in what they do. And the great thing about working with an agency, like Aijanae's agency, is that if you have a longer term contract like I did and someone inevitably gets sick or can't make a shift, there is always someone else who can cover. Our 10 weeks with Aijanae and her team were a big financial commitment, but it was worth every penny. I would wholeheartedly recommend Aijanae and Village to Village to any family who wants a smoother postpartum experience.

We hired Esme as a postpartum doula to help us get some sleep during the first months with our newborn. As first-time parents, everything felt overwhelming. We were also a bit worried about having someone new in the house at night, but Esme made it feel easy from day one—we felt comfortable with her right away. Esme was honestly a lifesaver for us in those early months. We feel very lucky to have had her support. Our baby would often wake up crying at night and was hard to soothe, but Esme handled those moments with such calmness and confidence. She clearly knows how to work with newborns, and that’s not easy to find. Our daughter felt comfortable with her, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Madeline is a close friend of mine and I was so excited to have her as my doula for my first baby! Unfortunately, I ended up needing a C-section not too soon after my "labor" started. Although we didn't get to thoroughly practice all the labor prep we had done together (i.e. birth classes, spinning babies videos, recommended books on labor, podcasts to listen to, going through my birth plan, etc.), Maddie was an excellent source of encouragement and helped me grieve the labor I didn't get. She was there for me in the weeks after my baby's birth and visited us multiple times while we were in the NICU, being an invaluable resource to us during a hard time. We are lucky to know her!

Joy was one of two night doulas that we used for the first six weeks of our twins life. Having her in our lives was invaluable, so much so that we extended her contract 2 weeks further than originally planned. She is knowledgeable, skilled and easy to talk to. She provided us with basic tips about baby caring and twin caring when asked, and showed immense skill and love when handling our newborns. We had her for 9 hours every night, which meant that I got lots of sleep but also someone to debrief the day on, and look for tips and improvement. She seemed genuinely happy to arrive every evening, and she cared for our babies as if they were her own. Her calming presence set us at ease, and the babies seemed to always be calmer with her as well. We have told many other pregnant friends about her skill, but recommend her to anyone looking for a night nurse you can trust.

Working with Jessica as our doula was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy journey. From the very beginning, she was amazing—supportive, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. Her initial consultation and two pre-birth meetings were packed with helpful information that made us feel so empowered and prepared going into labor. She brought a huge, delicious jar of homemade bone broth with her, and it felt like the most thoughtful gift. We are beyond thankful for everything Jessica did for us. Her genuine care, compassion, and expertise made all the difference in our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

I highly recommend having Jordan as your doula. Our experience with Jordan was 11/10; she was magic. Jordan makes everything easy. She listened to what my husband and I were each hoping for in our birth experience and helped us get there! We learned so much from her to truly understand all our options, to really make welcoming our little one what we wanted. We had a lot of questions and Jordan answered every question we had without fail, with both honesty and reassurance.
