I Can’t Wait to Meet You! In the Meantime, Here’s a Little About Me. My name is Matea, hello nice to meet you, thank you for checking out this page to learn more about me as a Doula. But first, let me tell you about myself when I am not being an amazing Doula. I am a mother to three wonderful children, 2 girls and one boy. And in my spare time, I love to enjoy a good film with my boyfriend, read a couple of books, and do some writing! My journey to becoming a Doula began during my third child, when I got pregnant the last time I felt a profound sense of freedom, to pursue whatever birthing options I wanted to, I spent countless hours nerding out over the birthing process and realized that I wanted to share that feeling of freedom and confidence with as many mothers as I could. My first two labors and pregnancies to say the least were HORRID. Knowledge is the most powerful resource that we have going through the process of birth and parenthood, knowing what sensations to expect, what experiences you might have in a hospital or birthing room, what it feels like to have your first or second child, and what to expect when returning home. I have personal experience with all of this, and the education to back it. I make it my personal goal to be your partner in making your birth story your own, and not just the one that is handed to you in a packet from a doctor’s office. I would love to connect with you over a cup of coffee or a quick phone call and talk more about what a Doula can do to help make birth and postpartum a beautiful experience for you and your family. So what can doula do for me? Specifically this doula? Birth is a natural process, arguably the most natural process that any woman has the privilege to undergo. And our bodies are uniquely equipped with the knowledge and ability to complete this process. As a doula for both Birth and Postpartum families, it is my goal to equip and educate new families in the miraculous and powerful process of birth, whether it is your first child or your 5th, I make it my personal goal to ensure that you have all the tools and encouragement that you need to make your birthing and postpartum experience as easy as possible. A Doula is your own personal advocate, your partner in the wonderful process of pregnancy and postpartum. I have received my training to provide these services through DONA (one of the most reputable training and certification providers in the US). I provide a myriad of services to support and advocate for you during and after your pregnancy .

Hi! My name is Jesse! I am a birth worker! I have always had a calling for Obstetrics and all that it encompasses along with medicine! So to fill those callings I became a doula and a EMT in 2023! I believe that being informed in all that we do is important. Knowledge is power. And when you are at your most vulnerable time (giving birth) it is the most vital time to have all the information and the most support. My goal it to keep my clients informed, answer any questions, find resources. And help try to facilitate the birth that is wanted. I am a judgement-free doula. And am here to be a support person for you.

I want to start by saying when I first was getting a doula I had no idea what to expect or what a doula really would do during a birth. Jesse explained everything so beautifully on what a doula is used for, what the positives a doula can bring to a birthing experience, how doulas can help post-partum, and much more. I didn’t have too hard of a pregnancy but was diagnosed with Cholestasis in my third trimester which led to us needing to be induced around 37 weeks. I expressed my worries and scares with Jesse and we made a plan 💕 Jesse attended a birthing class with my husband and I as we were wanting to learn a little more about the birthing process and see if there was any educational assistance for inductions. Jesse was always one step ahead when it came to our questions and if we weren’t sure, she would ask or would try to find answers. The day came for our induction. We went in at 6am on the 13th and began the process of induction around 9:30am. Jesse was texting with me and checking in on me through the whole beginning process. I asked her if she would come once we got into active labor (which I didn’t know when that would come obviously) but she came that afternoon full of absolute love, excitement, and just a powerful presence. Through the full 39 hours of labor Jesse was by my side through every wake up, every contraction, every scare, every med pass, trying to get to the bathroom and then getting stuck on the toilet in the middle of contractions, reminding me to change positions, and every piece in between. The first 24hrs of labor were full of pressure releases, dance parties trying to work on dilation, watching a movie while trying to bounce on the exercise ball, and having LOTS of mental health check ins. My husband and I are so blessed to have had Jesse with us through this crazy adventure of our first birth, but I know 100% that we will NOT be doing another one without a doula. Jesse’s presence brought so much peace to both of us and made this rough labor a much happier experience to look back on. Thank you Jesse for all you do for the mamas and I can’t wait to reach out again for our next birth 💕 I couldn’t recommend someone more than Jesse to have by your side!!!!

I am Rafaela, a Certified Postpartum Doula through NAPS and a graduate of DONA International–approved Postpartum Doula training. I am also a Birth Doula trained through the Becoming a Birth Doula program with Carrie Kenner and a Newborn Care Provider. I am based in Kirkland, Washington, and provide compassionate, respectful, and hands-on support to families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, helping parents feel confident and supported during one of the most meaningful transitions in their lives. I hold a Technical Degree in Nursing from Brazil, earned in 2010, with more than 2,090 hours of combined theoretical and clinical training. While this is not a U.S. nursing license, it provides a strong clinical foundation for the care and support I offer families. Throughout my professional career, I have gained extensive experience in maternal and newborn care, including supporting pregnant women, newborns, premature infants, and babies requiring specialized care. I bring seven years of hands-on experience working in a maternity hospital in Brazil, where I supported mothers during labor and provided direct care for newborns, including premature infants and babies in the NICU. This experience has given me extensive knowledge in supporting families with newborns who require specialized care. I offer both daytime and overnight support for newborns, premature infants, and their families during the postpartum period. My services include evidence-based newborn care, emotional support for parents, infant feeding guidance, healthy sleep foundations, and practical assistance to help families feel confident and well supported as they adjust to life with a new baby. Families often describe me as reliable, calm, and attentive. I strive to create a warm, organized, and judgment-free environment where families feel supported and confident in their routines while following current American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations for safe sleep and newborn care. I am fully vaccinated, have excellent references, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation. I believe birth is not just a medical event — it’s a deeply personal, transformative experience, and the way you are supported matters. As a birth doula, my role is to provide steady, evidence-based support while centering you: your preferences, your intuition, and your sense of safety. I support families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with calm presence, clear information, and compassionate advocacy. Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes unexpected turns, you deserve to feel informed, respected, and supported every step of the way. I work with all birth settings and outcomes — hospital births, unmedicated or medicated labors, planned or unplanned cesareans — and I meet each family where they are, without judgment. My approach is grounded in current evidence, emotional attunement, and the understanding that there is no “right” way to give birth — only what is right for you. Clients often tell me they feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and better prepared after working together. I aim to be a steady presence you can lean on — someone who helps you understand your options, supports your partner, and creates space for you to stay connected to your body and your baby. If you’re looking for a doula who is calm, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in your experience — I would be honored to support you.

From the moment I decided to choose Olena, I have never regretted it. From the very beginning, Olena was incredibly attentive and supportive. Her two prenatal visits were incredibly helpful. She clearly explained what to expect during labor and helped me prepare for the upcoming challenges both mentally and physically. She demonstrated valuable pelvic floor exercises that gave me confidence and preparedness for my future labor. Throughout my entire labor, she was very responsive to my needs and ensured that my wishes and comfort were a priority. She worked closely and communicated effectively with the nurses and midwife, and her support was especially crucial when the question of a C-section arose. She confidently advocated for my preferences and helped my voice be heard. When the decision was finally made for a C-section, her support never wavered. Both my husband and I felt reassured by her steady presence in the operating room. One of the most meaningful moments for me came right after the birth of my son, when my husband needed to be with him and all the doctors were busy. I cannot forget the comfort of her hands on my face while I was getting stitches. It was exactly what I needed to feel safe and cared for. After the labor, she continued to provide me with comprehensive support. She taught me how to sit and breastfeed correctly, guided me through every step, and frequently checked in to make sure I was doing well. I truly valued her knowledge and genuine care, and she went above and beyond, sharing an incredibly helpful list of tips for newborn care, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. Having Olena as our doula has been incredibly beneficial for both me and my husband. Her experience and unwavering support truly helped us through every step of this life-changing moment, and if my husband and I decide to have a second child, I know who I will choose as my doula.

Hi, I’m Laine (she/her)! I am a full-spectrum doula, plant lover, and mom of two incredible little humans. My own journey - welcoming my first child in 2018, experiencing pregnancy loss, and later giving birth to my second in 2023 - deeply shaped my path and passion for birth work. Both of my births were supported by wonderful doulas, and their steady presence inspired me to offer the same kind of care to others. As your doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to help you feel nurtured, empowered, prepared, and cared for - no matter how or where you choose to give birth. I love working with new parents and growing families, and I hold space for the wide range of emotions and transformations that come with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My approach blends compassionate emotional and physical support with practical tools like childbirth education and baby wearing guidance. I’m also passionate about birth photography and love capturing the beauty and power of labour, birth, and those magical first moments together. Through my practice, I offer in-person Labour & Birth Doula support, Childbirth Education, Birth Photography, and Birth Equipment Rentals for families in Nelson, BC and across the West Kootenays. I also support families from afar with Virtual Prenatal & Childbirth Education, 1:1 Virtual Birth Planning, and options that make doula care more accessible when local support just isn’t available, or financially do-able. When I’m not supporting families, you can usually find me tending to my plants, playing up at Whitewater, or keeping up with life alongside my two kiddos. Certifications and Trainings: Maternal Support Practitioner – Full Spectrum Doula Training (Bebo Mia) Essence of Birth Photography (Birth Becomes You) Childbirth Educator Training (Bebo Mia) Advanced VBAC Doula Certification (The VBAC Link) First Aid & CPR-C/AED (The Lifesaving Society) IPAC Training (Provincial Infection Control Network) I’m also an approved provider under BC’s Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program, meaning my services may be eligible at low-cost or no-cost. The Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program (DAFGP) is offered by the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, Provincial Health Services Authority, and the BC Ministry of Health. The goal of the program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing the cost barrier to accessing doula services.

Neha Chinchanikar

Hi there! I am Neha, a birth and postpartum doula based in Sammamish, WA. My path to becoming a doula was shaped by my own births and medical experiences at Northwest Hospital, Swedish Issaquah, and Virginia Mason. I know the power of a doula because I lived it twice, whose presence completely transformed my experience. She was the anchor that kept me grounded, providing the safety I needed to trust my body. I know that even the most empowered birth can be followed by a challenging recovery. My own postpartum transitions were marked by the reality of Postpartum Anxiety (PPA), a difficult breastfeeding journey, and a 5 finger diastasis recti that required patience and dedicated healing. These challenges were humbling, but they were also my greatest teachers. My Commitment to You: Full-Circle Care: Dedicated support throughout your pregnancy, labor and postpartum check-ins as you settle into your new life at home. Cultural Heart: A deep respect for your family's traditions and a commitment to honoring them from pregnancy through postpartum. Advocate and Empower: Empower you with resources and advocate for your choices in the birthing room.

Neha was a great birth doula. I wouldn't have been able to labor at home without her. She used many methods to help me cope with my pain. She was there from when I just had some cramps. When I texted her my symptoms, she quickly arrived at our home, helped time the contractions, poured ice over my body to distract me from the pain, used essential oils, and help me use the TENS machine. She helped my partner support me by suggesting position changes, feeding, and watering me. She gave me a list of aftercare items that have been very important for my recovery. All I desired for my birth was a quick labor and vaginal delivery, and Neha was essential in making that possible. I am very thankful to her, I wish everyone had someone like Neha to support them during their births.
