With Blooming Auras, I aim to heal the energy and approach around women’s health, and I’m incredibly passionate about serving women of color. The death rate for women who give birth in the United States is troubling and heartbreaking. In my work as a doula, I educate and advocate for mothers, allowing them to feel confident and safe in the delivery room. Additionally, I help women find alternatives to western medicine so that they can take a more natural approach toward healthful living. Being a mother myself, I understand how important it is to have adequate support as you grow your family and prioritize your wellbeing. I aim to elevate all women, starting with providing a foundation of self-care, education, and heartfelt support.

I'm a mom of 3 with a set of twins! In 2019 I decided that I wanted to try and get into something that I thought would be a side job or just another certificate to put on the wall, not knowing that one day would change my life forever. I became a Certified Postpartum Doula in 2020 and started ABCS. I did independent contracting to get experience. A couple of months after that, I found out that I was pregnant with twins. I had a pretty tough pregnancy. Physically I was fine, but emotionally, this was probably my hardest pregnancy of the two. I felt like something was missing. Like I didn’t have much time for myself. I felt like I had neglected everything because I was exhausted. While on maternity leave, it then dawned on me - I need to invest in my passion. I first became a Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist. Soon after, I became a Certified Childbirth Educator and a Certified Labor Doula. Now I'm in school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife!

Hello, my name is Sherri, and I am a self-proclaimed Birth Nerd! I was born with a love for all things birth related. My passion increased after working in healthcare for over 20 years as a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and IV infusionist in busy Rheumatology and OB/GYN practices. I started my master’s program in 2014 and earned my degree in Health Education and Health Promotion in 2016. That same year, I become a Health Education Specialist with a focus in maternal and fetal health and human lactation. Shortly thereafter, with continued coursework, a Doula was born. I have been a Doula for family and friends for many years, so naturally I wanted to share this passion with other birthers in the world. It is truly a blessing to bear witness and hold space for someone during one of the most empowering and vulnerable times in their life. At B2B, we believe that everyone should have the birth experience that they desire. Whether your choice be a natural, unmedicated birth, a medicated birth, or a belly birth (Cesarean birth), we will RESPECT your right to choose. We will educate you on how to advocate for the birth you deserve. When I’m not at a birth I enjoy spending time with my husband (retired Naval Officer), my 3 amazing kids plus bonus son in love, and my 3 beautiful grandbabies. I also love reading, traveling, and cooking traditional cuisines from countries that I have visited.
