Hi, I’m Sarah, Full Spectrum Doula and owner of Birthing Brave! I love taking a physiology first approach to interventions, meaning that regardless of what medical support you need (or want) during your birth we are setting up your body for success by optimizing it's natural processes. (This is great for natural minded mamas who want an epidural or need a medical induction). To do that we start prenatally. I offer a full online birth course with a physiology first perspective in hospital settings, and we do the work together to adjust mindsets, clear fears, improve our health and baby's positioning, and prepare for the unknowns (including NICU and C-Section). During your birth, I love supporting physiology regardless of what interventions come our way. This can look anything from helping you into positions with a peanut ball to open the levels of your pelvis while you rest with your epidural, to supporting the natural flow of oxytocin during a labor induction. Hello! My name is Haley, and I am a certified full-spectrum birthworker. I am passionate about supporting all birthing bodies and holding space for life’s big moments. I love being a steady presence and firm advocate for people throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experiences. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also focus on providing inclusive care for people of all sexes, gender identities, relationship models, races, and beliefs.   I have always had an interest in the birth world, but for the first 20 years of my life, I was dedicated to pursuing my love for dance. I moved to Salt Lake City from Akron, Ohio in 2018 to get my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet from the University of Utah. While I was studying for my degree, I started reading everything I could find about becoming a birthworker. My interest turned into an obsession and after dancing professionally for a year post-grad, I felt ready to take a break from dance and pursue birth work full time!    As your birth support, I lean on my intuition and learned skills to guide me. Entering your space with a regulated nervous system allows me to tap into that intuition and support you to the best of my abilities. Pregnancy, birth, and babies...I love it all! I see the birth process as a huge opportunity for growth and healing. This is an opportunity for the birthing person to communicate with their body and find their own intuitive & unique way of birthing. This is not just a mother experience but a parent experience, I love getting the partners involved. I am also a massage therapists and birth photographer. Massage during labor can be so helpful and amazing and I love capturing the sweet moments between a couple and meeting your baby!
