Aris is an absolutely incredible doula. I recently gave birth to my first child and can honestly say that having Aris at my birth made what would have otherwise been a pretty traumatic experience, a very calm and empowering one. My birth plan had to pretty much go out the window due to unpredictable events during labor, and Aris was with me every step of the way, helping me feel like I was still in control when everything seemed like it was crumbling. She helped me reframe things in ways that my brain could understand at the time, and for that I am so grateful! She also advocated for me at multiple points to keep whatever aspects of my birth plan could still be safely implemented. She constantly anticipated my needs during the labor process and never once seemed tired despite staying up with us all throughout the night. She was also amazing at physically supporting me during labor with various counter-pressure and distracting sensation techniques. She taught my husband what to do as well, but honestly she was 1000x better at it and was so much stronger than him lol! My husband and I are both physicians who are relatively educated about the birth process, but she is truly a labor and delivery expert and taught us so much. Her experience as a labor and delivery nurse as well as a mother of five children makes her extremely qualified for this role. I cannot think of anyone I would recommend more if you are looking for a doula. If you are considering having a doula support you during your pregnancy/birth/postpartum, choose Aris -- you won't regret it! It was truly the best decision we made for my birth.

I have nothing but great things to say about Debra! I was her client during 2024, and had my son in November 2024. I never hired a doula with my oldest so the process was as new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Debra met me where I was at and guided me through the process so it was effortless. She was always available either by text or call and always checked in on me and made sure that I had any information and support I may need! I'm not in contact with my mother so Debra, being and mother and grandmother herself brought the motherly vibes which looking back is something I personally preferred Vs having a doula around my age. She actively listened to my preferences surrounding my birth experience and when the time came she was both respectful and thoughtful of my wishes. She advocated for things I didn't want in the delivery room for me while I was deep in labor. If you want a kind, caring, compassionate, reliable, and loving doula please don't think twice about hiring Debra you will not regret it!

We so often are in search of magic, without realizing we have it right inside of ourselves. For me, becoming a mother has proven that to be true. Birthing Ancestors was created from the idea that when you have a child you are not only birthing a future generation, but you are also birthing yourself as a parent - someone’s ancestor. It is my greatest honor to holistically support you throughout every stage of your childbearing journey, and help you to discover the magic that has always been inside of you. Since becoming a certified Full Spectrum Doula in 2021, I have fallen deeply in love with this work. I have expanded my knowledge to support clients from fertility/preconception planning thru postpartum, with special interests in herbal and nutritional support. I also have 200hr yoga teacher certification giving me knowledge in anatomy, stretching and strengthening muscles, relaxation techniques, and preparing the body for labor.

Micalyn is an amazing doula and I highly recommend her services. I am forever grateful for her crucial role in making my unmedicated, hospital birth a positive and empowering experience. The prenatal meetings were very in-depth and included healthcare during pregnancy, rehearsal of labor positions, and the construction of a birth plan. Micalyn also provided me with handmade herbal tea and was readily available via phone or text at any time I needed support. Going into my birth, I felt prepared and confident. I was immensely thankful for Micalyn’s presence during my labor and birth. Whether it was conversation or physical touch, her peaceful and loving presence was so appreciated. She made the hospital space as beautiful as possible with Christmas lights near the bed and flameless candles around the bathtub. Micalyn collaborated fabulously with the hospital staff, and everyone was very impressed with her. When I was pushing, she was the one who suggested the position change that immediately resulted in my baby’s delivery. Micalyn was right there by my side when my son quickly entered the world: she called to the midwife to catch him and her shoes got drenched with the birthing fluids! Our postpartum visits were extremely helpful. When my son was a few days old, she came over and taught me how to do things such as put a diaper on and wear a baby wrap. She also brought me another handmade tea for sitz baths, which felt amazing. Micalyn is clearly made for this work and I can’t recommend her doula services highly enough!

Long before becoming a doula, I understood the importance of supporting mothers because I had experienced motherhood myself. Today, as both a mother and grandmother, I've had the privilege of watching motherhood unfold across generations. Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for just how significant birth is. Every mother is different. Every baby is different. And every birth story is different. That's why I believe good doula care begins with listening. I was drawn to doula work because I wanted to provide women with the kind of steady, compassionate support that can be so meaningful during labor and birth. My approach is especially centered around comfort care and birth coaching. I help mothers explore different labor positions, movement, relaxation and comfort techniques while also providing the emotional encouragement that can be just as important during labor. Also I am Pronatal (perinatal fitness instructor). Fitness is a part of my life and I can help you in becoming stronger in preparing you for birth and recovery!! I don't believe my role is to take over your birth experience. I'm there to walk beside you. To encourage you when labor becomes difficult. To help you find another position when something isn't working. To remind you of your strength when you're tired. To listen to what you need. And, when desired, to pray with you and bring the comfort of our shared Christian faith into the birth space.

Deb was incredibly supportive from day one. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, and truly client-centered. She respects your wishes and supports you in doing things your way while always being available with guidance, reassurance, and advice when you need it. We are especially grateful for Deb’s support during what became an incredibly difficult and frightening labor experience, when we came close to losing our precious child. Having her by our side during such a vulnerable and overwhelming time meant more to us than words can express. Her compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support made a tremendous difference when we needed it most. Choosing Deb as our doula was one of the best decisions we made, and we will forever be thankful for the care, comfort, and guidance she provided to our family. If you are looking for a doula who genuinely cares, listens to your wishes, and stands by you through the unexpected, Deb is the person you want in your corner.
