The Lactation Consultant on duty empowered me to breastfeed him and gave me tools so that I could bring him home sooner than expected. She inspired me to follow a career into lactation. Then after having breastfed my own children and developing a passion for helping others, I went on to become a IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I also have a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Wellness Management and Nursing. I have been an RN for the last 12 years. With the support I received during that time and in the years that followed, I successfully breastfed all three of my children—now ages 6, 8, and 11—and have discovered along the way my deep commitment to helping other families navigate similar experiences.
