Our experience with Melanie was nothing short of exceptional. Melanie was our NCS from the day our son was born until 6 months of age. She truly operated as the Lead NCS for our household, setting the standard for everyone else and ensuring that everything ran seamlessly. Her level of organization was outstanding. Melanie was always proactive about keeping me informed on anything that needed restocking and made sure our home was consistently well prepared and fully supplied. Melanie’s commitment to hygiene and safety was a huge stand out for us. She maintained the highest standards of cleanliness in caring for our newborn and was incredibly diligent about safe sleep practices at all times, which gave us real peace of mind. Every night, she provided thoughtful, consistent updates so we always knew exactly how our son was doing. Melanie also took the initiative to organize and coordinate the nightly schedule between myself and the other staff, ensuring everyone was aligned and that care was consistent. All of our son’s feeding, sleeping, and changing items were always perfectly organized and ready, making everything feel effortless. Beyond technical skills, Melanie brought a level of professionalism and leadership that elevated our entire household. She truly ran a well-managed, attentive, and calm environment for our son, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and structure she provided during such an important time. We hope to have her back for baby #2!

I provide nurturing, informed care, assistance, and resources to you, your baby and family as you navigate the postpartum period. I truly can’t imagine those first nine weeks without Lisa. She knows exactly what she’s there for and is incredibly attentive, observant, and always one step ahead. As a first-time mom, those first few weeks felt like the most vulnerable and fragile time of my life. You’re suddenly responsible for this tiny human, but you have no idea what you’re doing. It honestly felt like being dropped into the middle of a huge ocean, just trying to figure out which direction to swim. Lisa was the person I truly depended on during that time. She gave me a sense of direction when I felt completely lost and slowly helped me build the confidence to care for my baby on my own. Even now, months later, I still find myself using so much of what she taught me. What I learned from her during those first weeks has stayed with me long after her time with us ended. Beyond taking care of my baby, Lisa made me feel so genuinely cared for and loved. She truly sees you and listens to you. I always felt safe talking to her and simply being around her, and that meant so much to me during such a vulnerable time. And I HAVE to mention her lactation muffins because they are seriously the best!! Her baking completely satisfied my sweet tooth during those early postpartum weeks. As a huge foodie and someone who appreciates food that is both delicious and nourishing, I loved all the little snacks she would make for me. When you’re breastfeeding and constantly hungry, having someone make you something with so much care honestly feels like such a blessing. Every day before Lisa left, we would come up with a little strategy for how I could get through the rest of the day and night without her. I remember sometimes feeling so overwhelmed by the thought of the night ahead, wondering if I was going to get any sleep. Lisa would always reassure me and remind me, “I’ll be back tomorrow morning to take care of you.” Hearing that helped ease so much of my anxiety. Those first weeks with a newborn are filled with so much uncertainty and unpredictability, and simply knowing she would be back the next morning gave me something to hold onto through the harder nights. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have had Lisa be such a big part of this chapter of my life. I will never forget how deeply she cared for both me and my boy. We were so, so well taken care of, and she will always hold such a special place in my heart.

My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every woman who goes into labor should feel equipped, with knowledge, love, support, connection, and deep trust in herself. I meet each person where they are, honoring their unique beliefs and vision for birth. I don't care how you choose to birth; I only care that you get to keep your power and feel fully supported in your own beliefs about birth. My role is never to direct your path, but to walk beside you with steady support and trustworthy information so you feel confident and connected every step of the way. Overall, my goal is to help you feel equipped, empowered, and supported, holding onto your power as you bring your baby into the world.

As an immigrant from Turkey with no family nearby, my first pregnancy felt overwhelming at times. I often felt alone, and having Jade by my side made all the difference—she truly became the support system I needed. My biggest dream was to have an unmedicated vaginal birth. Throughout my pregnancy, Jade prepared us both physically and mentally. She explained every stage of labor with so much detail and confidence that by the time labor began, we felt completely ready. I arrived at the hospital at 8:00 a.m., and by 9:33 a.m., I was holding my beautiful daughter in my arms. I gave birth naturally without an epidural or any pain medication. Even though my pregnancy was considered high-risk, I was able to have the birth I had hoped for, and I truly believe Jade’s knowledge, guidance, and unwavering support played a huge role in making that possible. What makes Jade so special goes far beyond her expertise. She was always available to answer my questions, calm my fears, and remind me to trust my body. She gave me confidence when I needed it most. If you’re looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely cares about you and your birth experience, I cannot recommend Jade enough. She helped make one of the most important days of my life more beautiful than I ever imagined, and I will always be grateful for everything she did for my family.

Recent review

Working with Curtrelle made my birthing experience so much better than I could’ve imagined. As a first time mom, I was overwhelmed with the amount of information I was receiving from doctors, relatives and my social media. Curtrelle was instrumental in keeping both my partner and I calm, informed, and hopeful throughout the entire birthing process. Her techniques, presence and overall explanation of the process beforehand during and after were incredibly helpful for two new parents who felt lost in a sea of information. We truly feel she was the reason we had such a great birthing experience and we loved her demeanor not just with us, but with the people we decided to include in the process as well. I highly recommend anyone looking for a doula that is informed, calming, reassuring, and overall great person to work with Curtrelle.

Aysha SHOWED UP for me! I’m honestly not sure how my birth would have gone without her support! We laughed. We walked. We squatted. We twerked. I cried. She held me. Reminded me that i was capable. Postpartum was rough this go round and she was there, prepping meals, cleaning, teaching my toddler essential life skills, making sure she saw me drinking my water and taking my vitamins. She feels like a best friend I’ve known for many years. I’m so grateful and i can’t say it enough💗

My Journey in Newborn care started way before I had my son, began back in 2018. My mother was a Lamaze instructor who taught childbirth classes in our home, surrounding me with the language, rhythm, and wonder of pregnancy and birth from an early age. As the eldest of four siblings and 16 grandchildren, I grew up surrounded by babies, witnessing the magic of new life, and developing a deep-rooted sense of awe and normalcy around the birthing process. The births of my own children lit a spark in me, and that spark grew into a calling. I became a doula and gained extensive experience supporting families birthing in homes, birth centers, and hospitals across Los Angeles. Over time, my passion for this sacred work deepened, and I felt the undeniable pull to expand my knowledge and commitment to birthing families by becoming a midwife. Through years of study, apprenticeship, and dedication, I graduated from the National Midwifery Institute. I am a Licensed Midwife (LM) with the Medical Board of California and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) with the North American Registry of Midwives. I carry certifications in neonatal resuscitation, CPR, and Basic Life Support (BLS) and have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families on their birthing journey's. Becoming a midwife has been one of the greatest honors of my life— and I carry every story, every family, and every birth with gratitude and reverence.

I am a first time single mom and was worried about taking care of my daughter Emma, alone and recovering from birth at the same time. Violet helped me with both night and day shifts. Violets day shifts depended on my needs for the day. Some days she was just happy to make me lunch and do laundry for me and Emma. Some days I needed some time alone and she was there to do tummy time with Emma, put her down for naps, and sing to her. When she was on nights she was there to burp, change, and settle the baby down again after I breast fed her so I was able to sleep a little more. She always had cleaned any bottles she would use by the morning and would make us both coffee before I got up. She even gave me a slight discount knowing I didn't have a two income household witch helped me a lot in the long run.

Nikki is an absolute rockstar! Nikki helped us for about 3 months. I noticed a positive difference with Rogan every single day after Nikki had spent the night. He was calm and super happy, and stuck to his schedule the next day! Nikki always came on time (or early) and stayed until she was sure he was settled. I was originally extremely nervous to have someone help us sleep train Rogan. Nikki's obvious care and love eased every worry, and I actually slept through the night. I can't say enough good things!!
