Hello everyone, my name is Casey Carroll.. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located in Smyrna, DE and the founder of Nurturing Waves Doula Services! I absolutely love supporting births, it’s truly a passion I’ve had my whole life! I am always educating myself as much as I can to have the best and most up to date evidence based knowledge there is. I believe birth can be calm and peaceful if we set the right atmosphere. Knowledge is power and so is having great support! I am a judgment-free zone for all parents seeking informational, emotional, and physical support. In my free time, I love being outdoors (especially hiking), spending time with all four of my children, and working on projects with my husband. I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Casey during a recent birth, and I was absolutely blown away by her compassion, intuition, and expertise. She knew exactly what her client needed in each moment, offering unwavering support, reassurance, and care. As a prenatal chiropractor, I was honored to assist alongside her, and it was amazing to see how seamlessly she guided the birthing process. Her ability to create a calm, empowering space for her client was truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to work together on more births in the future! If you’re looking for a doula who is deeply in tune with her clients and provides exceptional support, I highly recommend hiring Casey! She is truly a gift to the birthing community. 💕

I support parents who want a deeply intentional, holistic postpartum experience that prioritizes healing, nourishment, and emotional support, not just survival. My work centers on helping you feel prepared, rested, and cared for as you recover from birth and bond with your baby. I provide personalized postpartum planning, guidance on physical recovery, newborn care support, and practical help establishing boundaries, rhythms, and sustainable systems at home. Families who work with me value a grounded, intuitive approach to parenthood and want support that honors both the science of postpartum care and the wisdom of the body. What sets my work apart is my holistic training and focus on whole-person healing. I integrate Ayurvedic postpartum principles, offering guidance on warming foods, nourishment for breastfeeding, and practices that support hormonal balance, energy, and recovery. I help parents understand how to nourish their bodies for milk production, rebuild strength after birth, and create a home environment that promotes rest and regulation for both parent and baby. My approach blends trauma-informed emotional support, attachment-focused care, and community-centered values so you feel confident, deeply supported, and truly held during this transformative season.

Siena was a wonderful doula - I highly recommend her! For my second baby, I was trying for a VBAC. My baby was a few days late and I was very worried about having to be induced. Siena gave me so many helpful tips to try to bring on labor and I tried ALL of them. All of that prep work definitely contributed to going into labor, the short labor that I had (less than 3 hours from first contraction to delivery!) and my successful VBAC without an epidural. I had such a radically different experience this birth compared to with my first kid (did not have a doula that time around). And my entire postpartum experience was much improved because the labor was so much different/better. I am very appreciative of Siena's guidance and support throughout the latter weeks of my pregnancy. All of her work with me and my husband definitely helped create that positive experience and I will be forever grateful! Siena has a very calming presence, and I always felt cared-for and prepared after talking to her. She also encouraged me to think about things that I wouldn't have thought of on my own - i.e. how to prepare for the postpartum period. Because my labor was so short, Siena arrived very soon after the baby was born and she helped calm me down and deal with the crazy shakes and nausea that I had, as well as breastfeeding. She immediately assessed the situation and was able to provide things that were really comforting to me, without me even asking - she massaged my feet and put some peppermint oil by my head. And in those quiet moments following delivery, those careful, considerate details will forever be ingrained in my memory of my baby's first minutes in the world!

Hi! I’m Kate. A mama of 4 and a birth doula! I’m from Baltimore MD and work with families doing hospital or home birth!

Recent review

I had the pleasure of working with Kate and her mother Margie during the labor and delivery of my daughter. Kate was my Doula and her mother was my birth photographer. They make one amazing duo! I had planned on a home water birth and unfortunately after 30 hours of unmedicated labor at home it turned into a hospital transfer and then an emergency cesarian surgery. Kate and her mother stayed in contact with me throughout the day when I knew I was in early labor and then got to my home promptly after she received the call that things were quickly progressing. Kate was so knowledgeable on different comfort measures for me during my labor. She was compassionate and extremely supportive during the whole entire experience! She even sent me a lot of information prior to my daughters arrival regarding helpful tips, body positioning and things I could do prior to early labor and through out to help me during every stage. Her mother is so kind, empathetic and takes beautiful pictures! I will cherish the moments she captured for our family forever. Margie even came to the hospital with us and stayed at the hospital not knowing if she would or would not be able to come back in to our room in order to take pictures after my surgery. I could not recommend hiring them more! Thank you both so much for being a part of my birth journey! XX- Alisha Rutherford
