As a full spectrum doula, integrative lactation and feeding specialist, and licensed massage therapist, I have a passion for supporting all genders, bodies, and family structures through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My personal birthing experiences include a planned home birth, turned hospital induction, turned cesarean, followed by a home birth VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean.) I have supported births ranging from unmedicated to planned cesareans, and would love to help you achieve the birth that is best for you. I especially value the opportunity to work with queer and trans people, neurodivergent families, and people preparing for births after cesareans. I stay up to date on recommended vaccines to maintain the safety of the populations I work with.

I was so thankful to have Jesse as our postpartum doula. They always showed kind, loving care when taking care of our baby; I knew he was in safe, expert hands whenever she was with him. I deeply appreciated their knowledge and guidance, especially the way they pointed out key development markers that gave us much-needed confidence. What makes Jesse truly special is the way she cares for the whole family. While my birth didn’t go as planned, they served as a vital sounding board—commiserating and encouraging me exactly when I needed it most. She has a rare ability to intuit what needs to be done without being asked, whether they were bringing incredible baked goods or jumping in with meal prep and cooking. Jesse is a professional who brings both evidence-based expertise and a warm, grounding presence. I will always treasure the time we had with them, and if we have more children, she will be the first person we invite back into our home.

I am a Jesus follower, invested mom, joyful homeschooler, a passionate Birth Doula, Christian Childbirth Educator and Breastfeeding Counselor. I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have received education and completed training for the doula’s role from DONA International and Hartland College, School of Midwifery. I draw on my knowledge and experience to provide emotional and spiritual support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with the staff to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress and help with relaxation, prayer, soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort.

There is no way I can fully express my gratitude for Eva and the fact that I was able to have her by my side as my doula. It's no exaggeration when I say it made ALL the difference in my birth and I can't imagine what it would have been like if she was not there. Not only is Eva a skilled and experienced doula in the matters of childbirth but she is an incredible listener and support which is so critical at such a vulnerable time. She gives you the space and respect you need but is a source of strength and wisdom when you need to lean on her. She was always available, incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely respected our wishes and experience which is hard to come by these days. Everything you would hope for in an ideal doula and more. Working with her was an actual blessing from God; I will be forever grateful. Where many people in the industry can dismiss or minimize your experience, Eva sincerely cared and honored us throughout. She went above and beyond and her love for the Lord shows in her character and the reverence she brings to her clients and her calling. Anyone who works with her is incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

I am a postpartum doula certified through DONA International, a lactation consultant trained through The Healthy Children Project, and a Ayurvedic masseur certified through The California College or Ayurveda. I’m a personal chef that specializes in postpartum nutrition and have a catalogue of frozen stews, broths and soups to choose from if you need inspiration for your meal planning. I meet prenatally to help organize the home, nursery and any other members of the support team. (Outlining responsibilities and expectations is work that is best done in advance.) I provide a newborn care class and a lactation class as well as meal prep for soups, stews and broths to be frozen. I always encourage my clients to try to book me for a visit right after the birth while in the hospital for lactation support and a modified version of my Ayurvedic massage. Once the family is home I cook nourishing foods rich in iron, protein, collagen, micro and macro nutrients to aid in recovery from depletion and help speed healing. (I also have a Postpartum Soup Bundle that can be purchased ahead of time.) I do dishes, laundry and of course provide even more lactation support. I can also simply care for the newborn while parents sleep. After the first few weeks the focus tends to shift into finding a daily rhythm, newborn care techniques and education on developmentally appropriate sleep habits for the baby. I also help parents with planning childcare help. I can be a sleep consultant one day and provide a massage the next. Maybe I play with the older children while mama naps with the newborn. Sometimes the work is just to sit and talk about all the things that the parents are struggling with. My job and my life’s joy is to simply be an extra set of hands or a sympathetic ear to new parents.

Elise Benoit

Packages from $1,600

Elise is a ToLabor Certified Birth Doula, a CAPPA trained Postpartum Doula, an IPPA trained Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and a Lamaze Trained Childbirth Educator. Elise also attended the University of Georgia and Piedmont College and holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a mother to Theo and Georgia and is married to Todd. She entered into the doula field after her own birth, which showed her the importance of building a supportive birth and postpartum team. She continued to add trainings to help extend her knowledge about the many facets of birth and offer assistance through the postpartum time. Those trainings and workshops include: Acupressure in pregnancy and childbirth, Perinatal Loss and Grief, and Spinning Babies Techniques. Elise believes that education and unbiased support lead to each birthing family feeling empowered and informed when making childbirth decisions. After personally enduring a battle with postpartum depression, she hopes to help her clients feel supported through the entire childbirth experience including the fourth trimester. Through her work as a birth doula and her own experience, she saw her clients have beautiful births, but still struggle with energy and emotions during the postpartum experience. She offers placenta encapsulation as a holistic option to balance hormones, replenish iron, increase prolactin for milk production, and boost energy levels. Outside of the birth world, Elise enjoys cheering for UGA (Go Dawgs!), arranging flowers, reading, retail therapy, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.

I absolutely credit Elise with the amazing positive empowering birth experience I was able to have as a first time mom. Her presence is soothing, confident, and maternal. My husband was so happy to have her there, so reassuring and helpful. Even though we arrived in the delivery room as I was in transition, she still managed to set the ambiance and calm mood I needed for the space. For anyone on the fence, I would say absolutely go for it. Having a doula is everything I had hoped it would be. I will be calling her when it’s time for baby #2

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hunter Moore at The Mindful Birth! She has been by my side for three pregnancies and deliveries, and I truly can’t imagine going through any of them without her. Are you feeling excited to meet your little one, but anxious about labor and unsure what to expect? Do you find yourself spending hours getting lost down internet rabbit holes researching pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, but still lack confidence as your due date approaches? Trust me, I’ve been there! My journey to becoming a birth doula was born from my own experience with childbirth. In 2022, while living abroad, I gave birth to my son far from family and without much of a support system. I found myself scared and overwhelmed by the intensity of labor, longing for someone to guide and reassure me. That experience opened my eyes to the vital role emotional and physical support plays in childbirth, and it’s why I’m here—to offer the same kind of guidance and reassurance I longed for during my labor so you can enter those fragile early postpartum days feeling calm, empowered, and supported. I share a life filled with joy in Northern Virginia with my husband and our two children, who are the center of my heart and universe. Family is everything to me, and it’s because of them that I’m so passionate about helping others navigate the journey of birth. My life has taken me to many places, including three years spent living in Germany and eight months deployed to Afghanistan. These experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying calm and grounded, especially in times of uncertainty – and I bring these lessons into my work as a doula. As your doula, my goal is to help you feel confident, empowered, and supported every step of the way. Whether you’re preparing for a hospital birth, home birth, or birth center, I will provide personalized, nurturing support that aligns with your goals. I’m here to help you navigate the unknowns and trust in your body’s ability to bring your baby into the world with strength and love. Motherhood is an indescribable gift, and I look forward to working together to nurture a birth experience that honors you, your choices, and your incredible journey.
