How these prices are calculated

Prices are the rates night nannies and newborn care specialists list on their Bornbir profiles. Birth doula packages are left out, because they pay for labor support rather than nights. So are hourly rates under $15 or over $200, to leave out package prices entered as an hourly rate by mistake.

The Staten Island figures count providers based within 150 miles once at least 5 of them list prices; below that the page shows New York or United States figures instead. Medians are the middle price, ranges the middle half of prices, and per-night costs assume a 10-hour shift. Figures recompute daily.

The cost of a night nanny in Staten Island, NY can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Staten Island, NY, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Debbie was incredible support during the first few weeks of caring for our newborn daughter as I recovered from delivery and we adjusted to parenthood as first-time parents. Her top priority was always our daughter’s care, handling everything related to her needs, including diaper changes, laundry, and organizing her belongings. Debbie is kind, patient, respectful, and extremely professional. She made us feel comfortable and confident while teaching us essential newborn care skills, from diapering and feeding to bathing and soothing. Beyond hands-on care, she helped us stay organized, offered thoughtful product recommendations, and shared valuable tips for the future. Her knowledge, calm demeanor, and supportive approach made a meaningful difference during such a sensitive and important time in our lives.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Wis!!! Though she wasn’t physically in my delivery room, she played a big part in my birth. She provided so much information that was not only interesting but very useful. She helped me a lot when it came to advocating for myself as a high risk mom. I had a few situations where I felt uncomfortable about the circumstances around how my child was born but Wis prayed with me and provided valuable resources so that I could make informed decisions about my care. Choosing Wis to be your doula would never be a mistake. The love, the care, and dedication she puts into this is beyond a job. I’ve gotten to know and seen her on a personal level and the fact that she’s back in school so she can continue to learn how to support women and families through such a precious time attest to her passion and professionalism around birth work.

I’m also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and Newborn Care Specialist, which allows me to continue supporting families well beyond the birth itself. Whether we’re preparing for labor, working through feeding challenges, navigating those first few weeks with a newborn, helping you get some much-needed rest, or simply figuring things out together... I’m there. My approach is nurturing, hands-on, and judgment free. I’ll educate you, advocate for you, encourage you, and remind you that your voice matters. I’m not there to tell you what your birth or postpartum experience should look like. I’m there to help you feel confident making the choices that feel right for you and your family. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cheryl and the support she provided throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From the beginning, Cheryl and I connected so well, and I immediately felt comfortable with her. As a first-time mom, that was so important to me. I was in a new city, delivering at a new hospital, and trusting a care team I had never worked with before, so having someone in my corner who I genuinely trusted made such a difference. One of the things I appreciated most was how much Cheryl prepared both my husband and I before I went into labor. She helped us create our birth plan, taught us different exercises, positions, and circuits I could use to prepare for labor and during labor, and most importantly, taught us how to advocate for ourselves and communicate what I wanted during my birth experience. That preparation gave us so much more confidence going into the hospital. Her support continued immediately after I gave birth. Cheryl helped me navigate those first moments of postpartum, including helping my baby latch for breastfeeding, which meant so much to me as a first-time mom. She made sure I felt supported, comfortable, and cared for during such a new and vulnerable moment. What makes Cheryl even more amazing is that her care didn’t stop after I gave birth. Five months postpartum, she STILL checks in, not only to see how I’m doing and adjusting to motherhood, but also to ask about my baby and my husband. She remembers our names, asks about each of us, and genuinely cares about how we’re doing as a family. She has also made it a priority to hear and understand my experience as a first-time Black mother, which has been incredibly meaningful to me. Her support has never felt like simply providing a service and moving on once the baby was born. The connection we built is genuine, and it’s clear that Cheryl truly cares about the mother, the baby, and the family as a whole. I’m so grateful that Cheryl was part of such an important chapter in our lives. She made me feel heard, prepared, cared for, and supported during one of the biggest transitions of my life. If you’re looking for a doula who is knowledgeable and compassionate but also someone who will genuinely get to know you and care about your family beyond your delivery day, I HIGHLY recommend Cheryl. ❤️

Since 2020, I have supported growing families through pregnancy, birth, recovery, infant care, and the transition into parenthood. As a mother of seven and grandmother of six, I understand how meaningful it is to feel heard, respected, and cared for during this season. My philosophy centers on informed choice, compassionate support, and respect for each family’s individual needs. I offer evidence-informed education, emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and practical guidance without judgment or pressure. My goal is to help you feel prepared, confident, and supported throughout your journey.

I hired Shayvonne as a doula, and it was the best decision I made. While my husband was extremely attentive and a wonderful support during labor, Shayvonne provided effective interventions for pain management and also gave my husband an opportunity to rest so he could have energy post delivery. Throughout the whole process, Shayvonne helped me to stay calm and hopeful. When I was too tired to voice my needs or wanted to give up, she quickly picked up on it and provided the encouragement and motivation I needed. There was no doubt in my mind that I could trust her completely to listen to me and advocate for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.

Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am an experienced childcare professional with over five years of caregiving experience for children of all ages, including more than three years working professionally as a nanny in NYC/NJ. My recent work has focused primarily on infants, supporting families through feeding, sleep challenges, developmental milestones, and the day to day transitions that come with a growing baby. I am currently completing my training as a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) and Postpartum Doula (PPD), and I am passionate about supporting families during the early weeks and months of parenthood. I believe every family deserves compassionate, reliable support during this significant life transition. My caregiving philosophy is heavily rooted in kindness, respect, and collaboration. I strive to meet families where they are, support their individual parenting goals, and create a calm, nurturing environment where both parents and babies can thrive.
