Hi! We're first-time parents in Santa Clarita expecting our first baby around October 8. My husband and I will both be home the first two weeks. We're looking for a postpartum doula for about to 5 -6 hours at night, 4 to 5 days a week, for the first two weeks. Our main needs: help us learn newborn basics (feeding, soothing, sleep), feeding support as we figure out nursing and pumping, and recovery support for me. Light help with bottles, pump parts, and baby laundry is a plus. We don't need meal prep. Ideally someone experienced with first-time parents, CPR and first-aid certified, and comfortable supporting a possible C-section recovery. We'd love to do a quick intro call this week.

We plan to give birth at Henry mayo hospital. I don't want to be constantly bothered while in labor though and am not sure if hospital is the best way for me to go. I have thought about birthing centers but just don't know what I should do. I want to have a natural birth but don't want to not have the option of an epidural if I have too much pain/ huge baby. I also want to be able to voice that I want to space the vaccines out once baby is born and have the ability to move around or change positions for a more comfortable birth. I have been trying to prepare myself for birth now as well as doing pelvic opening and strengthen workouts but want to make sure I'm doing enough to help With birth and my recovery after birth. I just want my husband in the room. This is our first baby so we are learning a lot. We wouldn't want to go over $1000 for our budget since we are a one income household.

I’m hoping for a VBAC after a previous C-section (in Sept. 2023), so I’m specifically looking for someone who has experience supporting VBAC/TOLAC births. I have the ILWU-PMA Coastwise Indemnity Plan with Blue Shield of California PPO insurance, and I’m hoping to have my doula services covered or reimbursed through my insurance. Do you accept Blue Shield of California PPO, or are you able to provide a superbill/NPI for out-of-network reimbursement?
