About me

I’m Vertulie, a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and New York State Medicaid-enrolled birth doula with a background in maternal nutrition. My favorite part of this work is keeping it real with families and teaching you what to expect every step of the way. I’m Haitian American, and I speak Haitian Creole, so I’m proud to support families in a way that feels culturally familiar, personal, and comfortable. Through visual, easy-to-understand education, I’ll help you feel confident and prepared for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum. Think of me as your knowledgeable, supportive sister here to answer your questions, calm your worries, and help you feel ready to welcome your bundle of joy. I have supported births at Katz Women’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Huntington Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island (formerly Winthrop), and Mount Sinai South Nassau.
