About Wendy

My passion is educating women and their birth companions so that they know what their options are for labor and birth. Only when you know your options can you actually give informed consent. This way women can create thier own best pregnancy and physiologic birth. I have a degree in Psychology and a background in biofeedback. All of these things came together when I found the HypnoBirthing natural childbirth method while I was pregnant with my fourth son 17 years ago. My midwife encouraged me to become certified after that birth. I was trained by the founder of HypnoBirthing. Marie Mongan in 2007.

Placenta Encapsulation

Pick up and deliver provided from your. birth place. If you desire, you may choose an "energy smoothie" with a small piece of placenta in a smoothie in addition to the steamed, dehydrated and puverized placenta that is put into easy to swallow capsules, or just get the capsules! Typically, there are usually 70-100 capsules produced. When you choose encapsulation you may also get two bottles of placenta tincture to are thought to provide hormonal and emotional support not only for Mom but also for the child. Since they are preserved in high grade alcohol they will keep for many years providing support for puberty and hormal challenges.

What to expect

I teach parents about natural, physiological birth. I do this using the Original HypnoBirthing Method birth classes. In class you'll learn how your baby and your body work together. You'll also learn how to harness your body's own natural pain reliever by learning to relax fully and completely very quickly. As a birth doula my job is to "hold the space" for the birthing family. I am there to provide continous emotional and physical support to the birthing mother and her partner. I support the birth partner by giving suggestions for helping mom to be more comfortable. I am also there to allow the birth partner to have breaks and rest. After birth one of possibly the most miraculous organs that a woman's body produces is no longer needed. The placenta has all of the elements that have just grown a whole human! When a mom chooses to ingest her placenta either fresh or in encapsulated form she may experience rapid healing, reduces bleeding, increased milk supply, less anemia, increased energy and prevention of the baby blues and post partum depression. Instead of this miraculous organ being discarded as biohazard, we turn it into an all natural, bio-identical supplement to get mom back to feeling her best much quicker than she would with out it.

My husband and I took Wendy’s HypnoBirthing class and hired her as our doula. I would definitely recommend the class if you’re even slightly interested in having a natural birth. It was one of the best things we did. Hiring Wendy as a doula made me feel more comfortable in having a hospital birth. She came to our house when labor progressed and offered advice and suggestions on how to keep feeling comfortable. I would not have been able to have the birth experience I had without Wendy by my side! We also used her for placenta encapsulation and she brought them to our house soon after we got home! Would highly recommend!
