I am looking to establish a care team to assist me with a homebirth. I am due in June 2027, and I am hoping to locate someone in the el dorado hills, Folsom area that takes blue cross PPO insurance. I am also looking for someone who could possibly bring the birthing set up with them for the home birth if that's possible. I just found out a couple weeks ago that I was pregnant so I am early to the game but just trying to understand how this might look doing a homebirth. I guesss budget wise.. I would like to keep the cost under 2k if I can utilize insurance as well.

Looking for midwife services for a homebirth. This is my third baby. First one was in a hospital with an epidural. Second baby was at a birthing center all natural in a bathtub. For the third baby, I’m looking to birth at home. We prefer someone that can take insurance. We have anthem Blue Cross PPO. However, we would be open to paying out-of-pocket.

I’m Not actually pregnant yet, but I’ve just moved to colusa and I am considering starting to try for my third baby. I am interested in having a home birth for my third. I had planned an home birth for my first but that got derailed due to the water supply to my home becoming contaminated (I lived in Alaska at the time) I did not try to plan a home birth for my second as I had a gut feeling I shouldnt. I ended up with Gestational Hypertension at 38 weeks a got induced, but preeclampsia was ruled out. Then we had tongue tie issues with my second baby that negatively impacted breastfeeding. I breastfed my first for 2 years and wanted to do the same for my second but that didn’t happen. I saw a lactation consultant and got the tongue tie revised but by the time we caught it my supply had already dropped significantly and it unfortunately never recovered. So this time I plan to have the tongue tie revision scheduled before the baby is born (the surgeon assessed my first child too. He also has ties but they weren’t quite as severe and he learned to compensate) and a lactation consultant lined up ahead of time. I really want to create an oversupply this time and be able to keep expressed milk in the freezer along with exclusively breastfeeding baby.

I have Medi-Cal coverage, and I am reaching out because I am looking for prenatal and birth support that is culturally respectful, trauma-informed, and centered around human connection and traditional care. I am originally from Guatemala, and it is very important to me to find a midwife, doula, or care provider who understands or respects Indigenous and culturally rooted approaches to pregnancy and birth. If possible, I would especially appreciate support from an Indigenous, Native, Black, Latina, or BIPOC provider, or someone with experience working with Indigenous Latin American women and migrant communities. I also want to share that I have experienced two previous pregnancy losses: one in 2021 at approximately 5 months of pregnancy, and another in 2025 at approximately 3 months. Because of these experiences, I am hoping to find care that feels emotionally supportive, respectful, and safe throughout this pregnancy. I would like to ask: Do you accept Medi-Cal? Do you offer midwifery or doula services? Do you have Spanish-speaking providers? Do you have providers with experience supporting Indigenous or culturally diverse families? Second baby, planning on giving birth at hospital but wanting to do it with no epidural, so trying to stay at home as long as i can. want someone who can also come to my house before hospital and coach me and same at the hospital. i am giving birth at sutter rossville, i am 7 weeks along.
