I’m Sherilee Peters, the owner and founder of Baby Nest Birth Services. For over 20 years, I have been supporting parents in having empowering birth and postpartum experiences. Growing up on a recreational farm in Canada, I watched animals give birth from a young age, which gave me my first realization of how beautiful the birth process could be. After having my own baby, I became passionate about educating and supporting parents, so they could have less fear. I am a mother of two (now grown and empty nesting), a Birth & Postpartum Doula, a Bradley Method Birth instructor, and a certified placenta specialist serving the Vancouver, WA, and Portland, OR areas.

The fullness of my life has been centered around children and maternal care and learning about herbs and how they support a natural lifestyle. I have been a childcare provider, prenatal to youth (special needs included for years past 18 years of age), for over 30 years. My decision to become a doula, and eventually to become a midwife, has been in the works throughout my life. I have been influenced by other doulas and midwives from the East and West Coast, with a predominance of this influence happening when I was in North Carolina. My mission is to ensure that mothers, and mothers-to-be have the resources, knowledge, and care needed to ensure the healthy births of their children, as well as knowledge of how to care for their newborns and older children. I have experience as a nutritional specialist (chef), well-baby care, well-Mama care, and family care and pre-and post-birth dynamics.
