With the birth of my niece in 2022, I began learning about the world of birth support and decided to take the jump into birth work at the start of 2025. In March, I trained as a doula with DONA at San Diego County Midwives, and knew I wanted to start my work in the volunteer space. Since May 2025, I have volunteered with UCSD's Hearts & Hands doula program and have logged over 150 hours on the Labor & Delivery floor as a badged member of the team, giving me invaluable hands-on experience for all types of births. I have continued my education in multiple areas including: -Peanut ball training with San Diego County Midwives -Spinning Babies® workshop -WIC's lactation seminar -Observed a 5-week Childbirth/Hypnobirthing course with The Birth Education Center. -I am trained in HIPAA protocols, hospital best practices, and am CPR certified. I now have plans to take what I have learned in my volunteer births and further education and start accepting private clients in 2026! Outside of the birth room I enjoy reading, hosting dinner parties, eating Wayfarer pastries at the park, puttering around the garden, and spending time with my husband and family. My practice is family centered and evidence based. My goal is to make sure that you have the information and resources to make informed decisions. I am a trained birth and postpartum doula, and have worked with families in Los Angeles and San Diego over the last 6 years providing meal services, Bengkung belly binding, birth and postpartum services. As a trained health coach, I am passionate about holistic wellness, and incorporate this knowledge into my practice to support the best health for mother’s and babies during the perinatal period.

My name is Val, and I have over two decades as a birth doula in San Diego, California. I have a health care background and value this aspect of bringing my experience to all the births I support. My philosophy for birth, is to remember that a woman will always remember how she was spoken to, and treated on the day of her giving birth. I love this work, it is a calling and truly an honor to be invited to a birth. I had a mom tell me one time, while she was searching for a doula, after asking her sister who had used a doula for her second birth, responded with the following: "Using a doula is the difference of flying first class compared to coach!" This mom went on to have a fantastic experience.

As a certified postpartum doula my journey to becoming a doula was sparked by my own experiences transitioning into parenthood and realizing how invaluable supportive and unbiased care during this time can be . I support new families during the incredible and sometimes challenging transition into life with a new born . This includes things like offering breastfeeding guidance , assisting with light housework and most importantly providing a listening ear and emotional support as you navigate the joys and challenges of this special time . I’m passionate about helping families feel empowered and confident and also look forward to learning more about your needs and discussing how I can best support your family .

I am Hadley, a birth and postpartum doula currently serving San Diego and Southern Orange Counties. I hope to be a nonjudgmental support, comfort, and safe space for families navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum seasons. I am passionate about meeting individuals and families where they are at and providing equitable advocacy and care to families of all identities and backgrounds.

I entered the world of birth work in 2016, and have been focused on expanding my skill set to better support families ever since. I became licensed in California in 2023, and plan to continue pursuing a deeper knowledge of birth as I serve my community. I gave birth to my son in June of 2023, and am deeply thankful for the gift of motherhood and the ability to care for my child. After supporting so many families in bringing their little ones into the world, I am still in awe of the transformative power of birth. I hope that through my care, I can support and encourage more families to expand their hearts and perspectives as they welcome new souls into their lives. In addition to standard reproductive care, I am also passionate about offering whole-person care, which refers to healing a person’s body, mind, and spirit as a whole unit. I believe that through this perspective, I am able to offer a truly individualized experience which supports a person’s healing and growth on a deeper level. I also hold a deep trust and admiration for my own intuition, which I find is my greatest tool in finding better ways to show up for my clients. By listening to my own inner voice as a healer AND teaching my clients to do the same, I hope to provide a deeper and more complete level of care.
