I am excited to be working with families. My desire stems from personal experience as I was fortunate to have amazing support after my own children were born. I have experienced a variety of deliveries personally – unmedicated and medicated, emergency c-section, VBACs, and homebirth and each came with a different kind of recovery. I know that my personal experience will allow me to assist each mother in their postpartum time. As a pediatric nurse I had the pleasure of working with newborn babies regularly. I enjoyed educating new parents but the time I spent with them was minimal and working with families during a postpartum shift gives me additional time for this education. I also used cloth diapers for all of my children from birth through potty training.
