She responded quickly to my inquiry through insurance, which meant a lot because I was trying to secure a doula as soon as possible and learn more about the process. From the beginning, she made me feel at ease, calm, and truly understood. She listened to what I wanted for my birth experience and respected my preferences.
During labor, Anita was incredibly responsive—always quick to answer texts and calls—and she arrived at the hospital right on time. She was professional, supportive, and fully present throughout the entire process.

She used techniques like applying pressure, guiding me into helpful positions, and placing cold towels on my forehead and chest to keep me comfortable. I feel so fortunate that Anita was able to be a part of my birth story. This work seems like a true calling for her. She showed genuine care for my wellbeing — mental, physical, emotional. Before and during labor, she gave me solid guidance without adding any pressure; simply giving me more info so I can better understand advice and options given by my Ob/gyn. Most importantly, she had the right (I called it magical) touch to ease pain and discomfort during labor, and she worked well with the other birth attendants: the medical staff at Sutter, my husband, and my sister.
The Procedural Doula support was exactly the service I was looking for, for the hospital birth of my first son. It was just the right amount of help. Anita was there for me a text away in the weeks before labor began. The due date came and went, I was not excited to get induced, and I caught a cold. She eased my anxiety and helped me make informed decisions. During labor and delivery, I already was in pretty good hands - the hospital’s nurses were kind, competent, and helpful, and my husband loving and caring. But Anita made a big difference because I felt such relief when she walked in. I could tell her what I was feeling or needed, and she advocated for me and also looked out for my husband; helped him get rest. She made me feel like whatever I wanted or decided was valid. She also gave insight and suggestions so I could anticipate some of the decisions I might have to make during labor. Anita and the nurses worked together to get me into a position where the baby turned for easier delivery. I am so thankful. I would not hesitate to ask her help again.

We emailed back and forth at first, then had a phone appointment, and finally met in person to discuss her services. Anita was fantastic to work with! My partner and I had just bought a house and were planning on moving into the area at 37wks. I had reached out to her regarding availability for my labor and delivery shortly before that. She was so kind and flexible in services to take us on so late in my pregnancy. Her care and attention to detail made me feel very heard and supported throughout my time with her. Labor and delivery did not go as planned as it so often happens but Anita was there to listen, support and advocate during the chaos. She went above and beyond to make a silly wish of mine come true- I had decided last minute I wanted to dress up as "Fat Thor" for Halloween- I was to be induced on 10/30. I didn't have time or energy to get props together on the 29. During the early stages of labor I showed her a picture of what I had wanted to do and talked about the missed opportunity. Fast forward a couple of hours (it's now Halloween,) we had sent Anita to take a break- it had been a long day. She came back with a beard and Thor's hammer THAT SHE MADE!!! Through my delirium, I had just gotten an epidural, she helped me "get dressed" in bed. We all had a great and much needed laugh, the nurses came in and took pictures with me. Anita stayed with us, encouraged me and my partner during difficult and scary moments and advocated for me when I couldn't. She stayed and supported my mom when I went in for an emergency c-section- she truly cared and supported all of us! We are so happy and lucky to have had her with us! I highly recommend using a doula, especially Anita if you have the chance! Thank you for being there for us!

Anita was my doula for the birth of my second child. Anita was absolutely amazing as my doula, so thoughtful with her periodic check ups the weeks before I went into labor and providing such transparent feedback answers and reassurances when I asked her some random labor questions and concerns. She is outstanding at remembering my birth plan preferences once we were in the delivery room, and she was critical in helping me get comfortable and relaxed during labor. I had a very uneventful labor story but when I was put into a position by the labor & delivery nurse that had put added pressure and uncomfortableness she worked her magic and made it so much better. She assisted my husband during the pushing part and helped by holding one of my legs while my hubby had the other one after 2 hours of pushing I just had no energy left. She also went above and beyond and took a video of our first moments with our baby and captured our baby girl on my chest and the umbilical chord cutting and a few other photos we asked her to capture.
