Looking for overnight post partum doula care to support my first 6 weeks post partum

I plan to give birth at a birthing center. I’m looking for quotes and don’t necessarily have an estimated budget. I want to have an unmedicated birth with support from a doula and midwife — who are ideally Black. I’d like providers that have experience, especially with clients who have trauma history. I am 31 years old and nonbinary. I am looking for care and support prenatal, during birth, and after. My insurance provider is Carefirst, an HMO plan.

Hospital birth, looking for a certified doula who can work with insurance (I have tricare). Birth plan involves a natural birth with as little intervention as possible. Looking for a doula to be my support person and advocate

I’m looking for additional support that is affordable for labor and potentially post-partum. My husband is amazing and will be there, but my research suggests that having a doula can help to avoid unnecessary C-sections and episiotomies. I am NOT looking to do a natural birth and my research concludes that I absolutely will want an epidural, as the benefits outweigh the labor pain risks for me. That being said, I want an advocate who understands birthing. Someone who will be able to communicate with the doctors in instances where I cannot. I can’t expect my husband to do all of this, and I may be incapacitated/not thinking straight. Looking for someone with experience supporting brown and black mothers, being our advocates, and standing up for us for our needs and wants. For example, I’d like to do a vaginal birth with an epidural, and be able to move around and be in the best position, whatever it takes for labor to go the most smoothly if it is uncomplicated. I also want to be sure that the baby received skin to skin contact from both me and my husband. Other than that, I’d like to simply learn more about the support I’d receive as well as potentially have someone with the right touch to provide massage or comfort during this time. This is my first child and I’d like to ease my anxiety as much as possible. I’d like to understand the types of support I could get for about $1,500 but we can discuss options. We plan to give birth at Georgetown University Hospital and I am currently a Medstar patient.

I’m really nervous about labor and delivery. I want an epidural and am good with medical intervention. I’m nervous that my husband won’t be calm during the birthing process. I need someone who can help me be calm through it and help coach my husband through it. I also am nervous about being very vulnerable during birth and consent is very important for me and want to make sure I feel comfortable and not taken advantage of. My budget is between $25 and $45 per hour, and I only need about 6 hours of care during the day. This would include help with meal prep, taking me to my appointments, and ensuring my safety in case of any emergencies. I have Tricare, so I’d love to find a doula who accepts it.
