Selah is a Biblical word which appears mostly in the Psalms and means, "to pause and reflect." In Scripture, this gives the reader a chance to contemplate what they just read. In worship, this allows space to be still and silent to listen intently to the Lord. And in labor, this applies to the break in between contractions; a chance to pause, a chance to breathe, a chance to rest in the presence of the Lord. Julia is not only equipped with the knowledge to be a professional and educated birth worker, but she also sees birth work as a ministry.
