I have been in the healthcare field since I completed my Bachelor of Science at Marymount University where I studied Health Promotion and minored in Public Health. I was concerned during the pandemic about the alarming rates at which black women and women of color were passing away at a time that is supposed to be joyous. After an uncommunicative, uninformed, and frightening first delivery, I knew that if I was going to grow my family, my next birth needed to be completely different.
