Both of my births took place in my home accompanied by a midwife, my very first midwifery preceptor. I breastfed both of my babies for 2 years, tandem for 6 months. I initially obtained my license in the state of California, but endorsed it to Texas once I moved. I have always been fascinated with birth and the women’s body. Labor & Delivery was my favorite clinical throughout nursing school, however the pandemic hit right when I was in the middle of school and that affected how I wanted to move forward in my career. It wasn’t until after giving birth myself, along with having a traumatic labor and delivery that I was 100% certain this was the area of work that truly felt most passionate about and is right for me.
