The cost of a night nanny in Grasmere, BC can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Grasmere, BC, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. I honestly don’t know if words can fully express how grateful I am to Alla for being there for me during the birth of our baby girl. ❤️ We had one prenatal meeting before the birth, and even after that first meeting I could already tell how seriously, professionally, and wholeheartedly Alla approaches her work. She didn’t simply tell me what to expect during labour — she genuinely prepared me for different situations and gave me so many tools and options to feel more confident and prepared. We talked about breathing techniques, different labour positions, ways to relax and take pressure off my lower back, exercises with a birth ball, massage, aromatherapy, essential oils, and more. She showed me positions that could help encourage the baby into the right position, as well as positions to help keep the baby from turning back. She even showed me how to swaddle a newborn. And Alla literally came to my house with TWO huge bags full of different supplies and TWO large birth balls! 😄 She showed me how to use everything and even left the balls with me so I could practice and prepare my body for labour at home. And the funny part is… almost none of those things ended up being needed during my actual labour. 😂 Not because they weren’t useful, but because my labour was so incredibly fast that we simply didn’t have time! When my contractions started, I called Alla right away. She stayed in contact with me, listened carefully to what was happening, and even contacted my midwife herself to explain what I was experiencing and what my symptoms were. This was incredibly valuable to me because my midwife was English-speaking, while Alla could communicate in both languages, and having someone who could clearly explain what was happening made me feel so much more comfortable and supported. We met at the hospital, but by the time we arrived I was already essentially fully dilated. About 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital, I had my baby girl in my arms! 😅 So yes — my labour was literally lightning fast. There was no time for long massages, aromatherapy, different positions, or working with the birth balls. But even in those few minutes, Alla was right there beside me, supporting me, guiding me, helping me stay calm, and being someone I could completely rely on. And her support didn’t end when my baby was born. Alla stayed with me for another 3–4 hours after the birth. This meant so much to me. She simply stayed there with me, talked with me, supported me, and helped with the baby. When I needed to use the bathroom or take a shower, she could hold my baby for me. She rocked her, comforted her, and even put her to sleep. She helped me with the first latch and with breastfeeding, gave me guidance, and supported me while I was still adjusting to everything after giving birth. What I remember most is that it never felt like she was simply “doing her job.” It felt like I had a genuinely caring person beside me who truly cared about how I was feeling and how my baby was doing. We also met again at my home after the birth, and we had a long conversation. Alla continued to offer her help and support in so many practical ways — with cooking, laundry, household tasks, and even helping with my older children. I didn’t actually need that kind of practical help at the time because my husband was home and was able to take care of the household and our older kids. But the fact that Alla offered these things so naturally meant a lot to me. She didn’t just ask, “Do you need anything?” She actually thought about the different ways a new mother might need support and made sure I knew she was there if I needed it. That is what I appreciated most about Alla throughout the entire experience: she was always ready to do more. She wasn’t just someone who came to my birth. She prepared with me beforehand, took the time to understand my needs, supported me during labour, stayed with me for hours after my baby was born, helped with breastfeeding and newborn care, and continued to support me even after I was home. These were my third birth, but having Alla there still gave me an extra sense of confidence and reassurance. I felt more prepared, more supported, and simply less alone in the whole experience. Alla, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, professionalism, patience, calm presence, and enormous heart. ❤️ I am so grateful that you were my doula for the birth of our daughter. And even though my little girl decided to arrive so quickly that we didn’t get to use all of your “magic” birth balls, oils, massages, and techniques 😂 — I still felt your support from our very first meeting, through the birth, and throughout those important first hours with my baby. I wholeheartedly recommend Alla to every expecting mother. If you are looking for someone who will not simply be present at your birth, but someone who will prepare you, support you, guide you through the unexpected, stay by your side during the hardest moments, and continue to care for you even after your baby is born — Alla is that person. I would choose her again without a doubt. ❤️

Lindsey was the emotional and physical support that I wish I would have had with my first baby! Birth is an out of this world experience, and Lindsey’s touch and voice brought me back into my body. Adele Pardy Callfas

Packages from $1,550 · $40/hr

I’m Adele (she/her), birth and postpartum doula, perinatal educator, Evidence Based Birth Instructor, owner of The Hive Doula Services, RMT, mom to an 18 year old, and born in Ontario but lived in Calgary for almost 21 years. You can find me obsessing over birth photos and placentas, sending birthing videos to my bestie, and dreaming about the birth room. Birth is such a beautiful and empowering moment that we all get to witness. Your birth team should support and honour you, as this is your birth, your body, your baby. As your doula I offer evidence based information and resources. I 100% believe in you and your ability to go through this journey and into parenthood. And will low key throw some throat punches if needed (I’m mostly joking). I truly feel that everyone deserves a doula ♥️. Let’s connect and see if we are a fit.

Looking back, Adele was a pivotal reason that my birth was such a good experience. She provided me and my husband with excellent support during our pre meetings. She was a calm and patient presence as I laboured both at home and at the hospital. She advocated for me to get the right anesthetist for an, originally unplanned, epidural, as I have scoliosis. She took gorgeous photos of the birth that I’ll cherish forever. She provided such tender care during our post-partum home visits. Adele is a joy—and even better she is an immensely knowledgeable joy. She is tranquil magic during the long journey of birth, and I’m so grateful that she helped me bring my baby girl into the world.

Hello! I’m Nicole, a Birth and Postpartum Doula based in Calgary, Alberta. My motto is simple: Your body. Your baby. YOUR choice. Period. Every human deserves full autonomy over their body—and my role as a doula is to walk beside you through life’s beginnings, endings, and everything in between. Alongside birth and postpartum care, I also serve as an End-of-Life Doula and am expanding my training in infertility, pregnancy, and infant loss support. In addition to being obsessed with babies—just call me the baby whisperer—I’m an animal lover, nature enthusiast, and strong advocate for “bringing back the village.” My practice is rooted in respect for all identities and lived experiences, with a focus on creating compassionate spaces where every voice is celebrated. Supporting families through birth and postpartum is both an honour and a calling I hold close to my heart. Through my own journey of learning how to advocate for myself and navigate our healthcare system, I understand how vital it is to feel heard and respected. My goal is to help give people their voice back—offering unbiased, non-judgmental support, evidence-based information, and personalized care, from prenatal visits and continuous labour support to postpartum guidance and community referrals. I’m especially passionate about serving underserved communities, advocating for inclusive, equitable care, and supporting those who’ve felt dismissed or unheard in healthcare settings. Outside of doula work, I enjoy hiking, camping, cooking, travelling, and going on adventures with my partner and our dog. I firmly believe everyone deserves compassionate support, which is why I offer a sliding scale for my services—making doula care accessible to all families.
