I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success. My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son. Due to a series of events that could have very well crippled me only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone. My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The Postpartum stage isn't a race, it's about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way. When I am not attending a birth or working overnight postpartum shifts, you can most likely find me in the comfort of my home surrounded by my family. My house is filled with laughter, playful banter, persistent chirps from my Lovebirds and Conure, yapping can be heard from the family Pomeranian; Mochi. I enjoy worship nights held by my church, reading webtoons, soaking up k-dramas and building miniature wooden puzzles and book-nooks.

My name is Lauren Mackenzie and I am a Full-Spectrum Doula and Birth-Worker, certified through Fanshawe College. I offer emotional, informational, and physical support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I provide client centred, unbiased & non-judgmental, trauma-informed support. I’m a momma to 3 incredible babies, my love for pregnancy and babies started at young age, I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I decided to get into birth work after my first baby was born. I have experienced 3 vastly different births myself including a c-section and 2 home births. I am so passionate about vbacs and home births but I support all births and everyone’s decisions. I am based out of Norfolk county but I do travel within reason.

I'm a mother of four amazing daughters, and have been working as a full time birth and postpartum doula since 2016. As a doula I believe education and support, and love helping all parents meet their goals and gain the confidence they need for the journey ahead. I support all types of births and have a beautiful inter professional relationship with doctors, nurses and midwives. I have working in all major hospitals in the GTA, as well as the Toronto Birth Centre and the Alongside Midwifery Unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital. My objective with all my families is setting expectations, supporting BOTH parents together and helping them make their birth and 4th trimester a wonderful memory.

One thing that makes me different as a doula is that I am a Christian and I believe that God wants to be fully present in every part of our life, including birth! Surrendering this crucial part of our life over to Him is utterly important. We are not called to live in fear but of power! I help you to turn your fear into faith, give you Scriptures that will inspire you, and pray over you.
