Hi My name is Javanne Brooks and I am a doula and nurse practitioner who believes whole heartedly that giving birth should be one of the greatest experiences in a persons life. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, as it wasn’t for me during my birth. It was my and the experience of so many other women that has catapulted me into maternity area of healthcare in which I strive with all of who I am to help pregnant women, husbands, and other supporters of pregnant women (moms, grandmothers, sisters, brothers, etc.) become educated and empowered advocates while in the birthing space. I have over 19 years of nursing experience as a nurse and nurse practitioner and am a clinical expert in my field. I have also helped support several pregnant, laboring and post-partum moms and partners navigate through the their maternity journeys. I am so excited to meet you and begin your journey toward a happy, healthy, educated and empowered maternal journey.

I have had the pleasure of working with Javanne twice. She is very hands-on and is extremely knowledgeable. My first experience with Javanne was in 2022 when I had my first child. As a first-time mother, I had so many questions as I was 41 weeks pregnant and felt pressured by my doctor to induce labor. I desired to have a natural birth but was fearful after talking with my OBGYN. I was scared and felt uneducated about the process. Javanne educated me on specific questions to ask, what to expect during my upcoming appointments as well as the risks. She helped me feel at ease while teaching me to advocate for myself. I chose not to be induced and had a fairly easy natural delivery. My second time working with Javanne was in 2024. I had another vaginal birth without an epidural. Everything seemed to have gone well. Two weeks later, I noticed I was having a difficult time breathing, and I could only sleep sitting up. Additionally, I was experiencing headaches and gaining weight. I messaged Javanne, and she explained that this was not normal and urged me to go to the ER. Thank God I did! I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia and cardiomyopathy. Javanne was readily available for all my questions and educated me on the best possible treatments and what to ask my doctors and cardiologists. She also explained how postpartum preeclampsia can bring on cardiomyopathy. Javanne is attentive and wholeheartedly desires labor and delivery to be an enjoyable experience. I’m forever grateful for Javanne.

I live in OC with my three amazing children! If I’m not at a birth, you will find us at the beach surfing, playing, and enjoying the outdoors. I fell in love with all things birth when I became pregnant with my 1st child in 2008. As an avid reader and researcher, I made it my goal to learn everything I possibly could about the biology and physiology of birth, and how to have optimal health during and after pregnancy for both me and my baby. Like many first-time moms I have worked with, I had hesitations about giving birth to my 1st baby outside of a hospital setting. After all my research, classes, and conversations with midwives, I gained confidence in aiming for an unmedicated birthing experience. I found some lovely midwifes who had a midwifery ward in a hospital and gave birth to my 1st son unmedicated. Twenty-four hours of intense back labor from a posterior-positioned baby …but, I did it! My body actually did it! After birthing my first, statistically knowing it was the most challenging and longest labor, gave me confidence to choose home births for my second and third children. I had a successful home water birth with my second child and wanted to repeat that with my third. However, while laboring on the toilet with him, I suddenly dropped to my knees when he began to crown, and he became known as my bathroom floor “butter birth” baby :). Though I chose unmedicated births for myself, I do know it is not for everyone, which is more than OK! I quickly learned from my role as a doula that every woman’s body, medical history, and background are uniquely different. Many factors play into choosing the right birth for you. I am here to come alongside you, help you make an informed decision, and then support you every step of the way. I offer very personable and compassionate care. My approach is non-agenda-based, trauma-informed, and holistic-minded. No matter your history or past experiences, I am here to be a safe place for you. I will help educate, support, and advocate for you and your personal wishes. I look forward getting to know you and building a trusting relationship to where you feel 100% comfortable having me by your side for one of the biggest days of your life. 🙂 I am here for you! Words cannot not express how thankful I am for Mrs Nicole's help after I had my son! She came to my house 4 times weekly and covered the night shift for me and my husband up until our son was 15 months old. the relief we had with knowing that our first child was being cared for AND we got to get rest to go to work and take care of our son during the day was and is truly priceless! Mrs Nicole helped with diaper changes, feedings and even ran a few loads of the babies clothes while we were sleeping. When our son turned 14 months, he was sleeping through the night so no longer needed her but truly are still grateful we reached out and got the help we needed and wanted. She was open to what we wanted as parents and even offered suggestions that helped us transition into a new world of parenthood. Thank you Mrs Nicole!

Luz was truly the best doula I could have asked for. She supported me every step of the way throughout my pregnancy and was an incredible source of comfort, guidance, and knowledge. Her support during labor made all the difference. I genuinely believe that without her, I would not have had the smooth birth experience that I did. Her care didn't stop after delivery. During postpartum, she helped care for both my baby and me, allowing me to get the rest and recovery I needed. She even helped with everyday tasks like baby laundry and dishes, which was such a blessing during those early weeks. Luz is kind, respectful, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Even though I had previous pregnancies, she taught me so much that I never knew before. Her dedication and support exceeded every expectation. I cannot recommend her enough, she is simply the best!

I am a postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families as they welcome their newest little one. My passion for this work grew from a deep belief that parents deserve just as much care and nurturing as their babies. Whether you’re recovering from birth, navigating the early days of parenthood, or adjusting to life with a newly adopted baby, my goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where you feel rested, confident, and cared for. I offer a blend of emotional support, practical guidance, and hands-on help tailored to your family’s unique needs. As a mom of two young boys, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a baby. Those early days can be beautiful, exhausting, and everything in between — and it’s what inspired me to walk alongside other families during this precious season. It’s an honor to support parents as they grow their families, and I’d be honored to support yours.

I wasn’t sure what the balance of welcoming our second child would bring but I’m glad Kim was able to offer support through the adjustment. Kim provided much needed hands on help during the newborn phase and early postpartum period which helped me feel confident and better adjusted early on. She has a gentle and calm approach to supporting both mom and baby. I also appreciated her guidance and knowledge in navigating breastfeeding. I am grateful to Kim for her patience, support, and presence during this important transition for myself and my family.

After feeling dismissed and intimidated into making decisions against my better judgment during my first birth, I knew I wanted a different experience the second time and specifically sought out advocacy--hiring Britt as my doula was one of the best decisions I made. From the beginning, she was incredibly relatable and easy to talk to, taking the time to truly understand my preferences, concerns, and goals. Her background as a former high-risk RN, combined with her doula training, gave me so much confidence. She explained things clearly, helped me make informed decisions, and always made sure I felt heard and respected. No matter what questions or worries I had, she met them with patience and reassurance. Even though my birth didn't go as planned and ended in an unplanned C-section, Britt's support never wavered. She was a steady, calming presence throughout and helped me feel empowered and cared for every step of the way. I'm so grateful for her support and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly supportive doula. During such a vulnerable time where appointments can feel impersonal and too "routine", it was such a blessing to feel/know that someone really genuinely cared about me, my pregnancy and by baby!

Autonomy-Centered Birth, Faith-based Birth & Postpartum Doula for Sovereign, Physiological Birth | Serving LA & OC | Kaiser-Friendly Hi, I’m Teejay Casado — your local doula for LA and Orange Counties. I am happy to also assist doulas beyond this area virtually and will travel if necessary. I started founder of Temple & Terrain Birthworks — a faith-rooted birth and postpartum support and wellness service. I specialize in supporting women who desire physiological, low-intervention birth while preserving autonomy and informed consent in hospital or home settings. My clients are often: • Planning natural or low-intervention hospital births • Desiring delayed cord clamping, Golden Hour, or lotus birth • Seeking evidence-based advocacy within systems like Kaiser • Wanting sovereignty in their birth decisions (e.g. labor to start naturally, push when ready, informed consent for vaccinations) • Craving calm, grounded leadership during labor With a background in anthropology, I honor birth as both an ancient physiological process and a sacred rite of passage. I help mothers prepare not just physically — but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — so they enter birth informed, steady, and confident. Whether birthing at Kaiser or elsewhere, I guide families in: • Protecting the Golden Hour • Navigating hospital dynamics with clarity • Minimizing unnecessary interventions • Preserving mother-baby bonding • Creating a peaceful postpartum integration My postpartum support is deeply restorative, focused on nervous system regulation, gentle bodywork, whole-food nourishment, and helping mothers feel seen — not just cared for. If you are seeking sovereign birth, calm leadership, and faith-rooted support without pressure — I would love to connect.

TeeJay is an absolute God sent. I met TeeJay through LoveLife Jess. I am a first time single parent who suffer from severe postpartum depression & anxiety after I had my daughter. I didn’t know how to navigate motherhood and didn’t have the strongest or healthiest support system. However, TeeJay has been that support I needed to push through a lot of my fears. I would’ve missed out a lot the first year of my daughter's life if it weren’t for TeeJay’s patience, love, & support.
