About me
My name is Karen Swan, and I hail from Scotland. I've been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for the past 18 years, though my journey in supporting breastfeeding mothers spans over 30 years. For the last two years, I've been working in private practice for Bayou City Breastfeeding, following a rewarding career as a hospital-based IBCLC specializing in the critical first days of breastfeeding and NICU support for 15 years. My journey began as a Registered Midwife in Scotland, where I spent 12 years honing my skills in maternal and infant care. With my extensive background, I take great joy in guiding mothers through every stage of their breastfeeding journey, from those early days to more complex challenges. Beyond my professional pursuits, I cherish moments spent with my three grown children, two grandchildren, and our beloved dog. Travel is another passion of mine, and I love exploring new destinations while enjoying leisurely walks.
