Sarah Early has over thirty years of working in the healthcare industry. Her career has taught her about the importance of supporting women with a mind, body, and spirit approach as women learn to care for their health while also addressing their family’s healthcare needs. Sarah worked in a busy Maryland hospital that delivered ten-thousand babies annually and it was here where she began to focus her time on maternal-child care and lactation. During this time, Sarah interacted with countless new parents struggling to feed their newborn and lacking the guidance or resources necessary to do so successfully. These families and their frustrations inspired Sarah to gain the IBCLC credential in 2011 and open Lactation Room in 2014. Lactation Room has been a staple of lactation and infant feeding support in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia for a decade and Sarah and her team of IBCLCs, Registered Nutritionists, Nurses, and Doulas have cared for thousands of families along their new parenting journey. Lactation Room was the first practice in the DMV to expand offerings through insurance and now has three office locations to improve access to care. It was important to Sarah that quality and evidence-based care be attainable and not cost-prohibitive allowing women to receive the care they deserve and need. In 2016 she co-hosted the first collaborative conference for tongue-and-lip ties (TOTS) in the DMV bringing together hundreds of people from multiple disciplines. The conference attendees included IBCLCs, Nurses, Physicians, Feeding Therapists, Bodyworkers, Dentists, and more. Her philosophy is that there are many facets to care, and when the approach is team-based and collaborative, the patients receive better quality care and outcomes. She has presented the collaborative model for infant feeding dysfunction at Simon Says Speech, Talk Tools Speech & Feeding Therapy, Southern Maryland Dental Society, and multiple local hospitals and area organizations. Sarah graduated from a Masters in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner graduate program with high distinction and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses while working and running Lactation Room. Her clinical education and training paved the way for her newest journey in private practice, Peony Women’s Integrative Health, which she opened in 2023. Working as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner she serves clients in the DMV. Peony WIH focuses on caring for women with a root-cause, integrative, and functional medicine approach to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. PWIH provides in-office health consults with Sarah, integrative and functional nutrition support by a Registered Dietician, and Craniosacral therapy services. Sarah is focused on addressing the needs of women in the community through a patient-centered and collaborative approach to care. She is an active member of ILCA, USLCA, IATP, AHNA, AANP, and MBC. hello@peonywih.com

Hi! I’m Amanda DeWeese, and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I hold a BS in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Health Promotion and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, in addition to being Certified in Public Health (CPH). I guess you could say I love helping families and I’m a lifelong learner! I serve the Tampa Bay area as well as online. Liz is an Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) trained body worker who has over 10 years of experience working with newborns and their families. Her unique perspective on family centered care comes from a compilation of knowledge that she gained by working in a Level III NICU, as a postpartum doula, as a lactation consultant and a body worker. Her philosophy is that every family should feel they are thriving, not just surviving, the adjustment to adding a new baby to the family. While a lot of her time is focused on the first three months after delivery, her support can span years as the family unit is ever evolving. Her specialties include oral function, assessment for oral restriction (aka lip/tongue ties), tension release with CFT, post NICU graduates, multiples, and medically complex infants. The most important factors that drive the care you will receive from Liz are 1) what are you goals as a family and 2) what is the root cause of any struggle you are experiencing. There will be no band-aid fixes provided and nothing short of comprehensive care provided. It would be an honor to be included in your postpartum journey!
Averill Park, New York
After the birth of my first daughter in 2011, I became passionate about breastfeeding and its advocacy. I had no idea how hard and isolating it would be and desperately wanted help and advice. We moved back to the Capital Region and I found La Leche League! This community of supportive, non-judgmental nursing families inspired me and I became an accredited Leader in 2017. Since then, I’ve been fervently learning about breastfeeding and human lactation. I earned the title of IBCLC in December 2022. I live in Averill Park, NY with my husband, two daughters, our two rescue cats, and a handful of chickens. I love gardening, cooking, cycling, running, pole vaulting, learning new things, and empowering families to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Osceola, Indiana
My passion is deeply rooted in my personal experience and life long passions to help others. I had a rough start breastfeeding our daughter. With the thoughtful care of an amazing IBCLC who came to my home to help me, I was able to have a long breastfeeding journey with our daughter. Her support made me realize that I wanted to help other parents achieve their goals. It was really a full circle journey for me. When I was in college, I thought that I wanted to go into healthcare, but my academic journey didn’t work out for that. I pursued a degree in marketing and entered into the business world. I could never figure out why that didn’t work out in college until I was inspired to become a lactation professional. God had a plan for me to help moms, and lactation has been my way to help people in the way that I always thought that I wanted to in healthcare. I am a mom to two amazing kiddos and in my previous career worked in marketing and sales. My husband and I met when we both worked in college athletics. I took a step back from my career when I got pregnant with our daughter and focused on her and living the coach’s wife life with SEC football. It is then that I found my passion for lactation. I am a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame and I grew up in the Michiana area. I am so happy to be home and serving our community (and beyond) with my private practice.

Babies have always been my passion! Like Tisha said, I always knew my career would be working with babies. I applied to nursing school knowing I was going to work in OB and that's exactly what I did. After having my first child in 2014 I realized the need for more lactation consultants. I struggled a lot with him and had no one to turn to for answers, so I began doing my own research. I was determined to make this work. And that is how my lactation career started! I started my lactation training not even knowing if I would be able to get a job doing what I had become so passionate about. My family and I made some life changes and everything fell right into place. Tisha and I always casually talked about starting a business but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would actually happen. But here we are! I absolutely love my job and could talk about breastfeeding all day long. I strive to do everything I can to help each mom meet their personal breastfeeding goals. I am very passionate about tongue ties and food allergies in breastfeeding since I personally experienced that with my 2 nursing journeys. Breastfeeding does not come naturally for everyone and it definitely isn't as easy as some think. That's why I have made it my life mission to educate every mom and give them all the tools and support needed to be successful!
Farron has been so helpful and is always available when I need her whether that be through text or over the phone. She has been so supportive and encouraging through this new journey and I’m thankful for her insight and help!

Neena was a lifesaver for me and my baby! I was struggling with latching and not making enough milk for my baby. Neena patiently worked with me and my baby until I was confident with latching and helped me boost my milk supply. She also has an online library of videos which she gave me access to so I could learn more about breastfeeding and pumping in my free time. I really liked the videos on pumping and would watch them while feeding at night. Even though Neena gave me some sleep training tips during our time together, I am looking forward to working with her when I am ready to tackle sleep training. I couldn’t have asked for better support—she’s truly amazing!

Hi! I'm Ali and am happy to meet you! Drawing from my own personal encounters with breastfeeding, I've poured my heart into guiding mamas like you. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I can't emphasize enough the importance of understanding and support during this journey. When I think about my four kiddos and the challenges I faced with tongue and lip ties, it fills me with a fiery passion to make sure no momma feels alone in her breastfeeding quest. Embracing a holistic perspective, I firmly believe that the magic lies in wholehearted guidance, not just ticking off checklists. Having had the privilege of serving as a Mother/Baby nurse at St. Luke's the Woodlands Hospital and being a part of the amazing Texas Children’s Hospital team in the Houston Medical Center, I've witnessed the immense strength and resilience of mothers and their babies. Whether it's the NICU or an outpatient clinic, every mom and babe have a unique story, and I cherish being a part of it. Always learning, always growing, I'm active with the Houston Area Lactation Consultants and Educators Association (HALCEA), because there’s always something new on the horizon. But let me tell you, nothing compares to the joy of seeing new mothers discover their strength, trusting their instincts, and flourishing in their breastfeeding goals. When I’m not in my professional shoes, I’m fully immersed in the joy of homeschooling my children and being active in our church community. And speaking of communities, BCB feels like home. The kind of warmth and support I've felt here, especially during some challenging times, is what you'd expect from close-knit family. Working with clients and building relationships with some of the finest providers has been the cherry on top. So, let's do this together, y'all! Lean on my experience, my holistic approach, and my genuine wish to see you thrive in your breastfeeding journey. Here’s to new adventures and creating cherished memories! 💙

Hi there! I'm Jill, and I'm an IBCLC and a holistic sleep specialist. I work with families to get to the root of their feeding and/or sleep challenges. I accept several insurance plans and offer sliding scale pricing for out of network clients. Unique from other IBCLCs and sleep consultants, I work with families to help understand & address the root cause of their baby's night wakings without ANY form of separation-based sleep training. My approach centers attachment and is informed by neuroscience & infant brain development, as well as biological feeding norms. Because I specialized training in lactation care, oral function, and nutrition, I have helped hundreds of families identify missed (or dismissed) issues affecting sleep and improve their child's health & well-being for life.

My journey through motherhood and nursing stands as a testament to my unwavering dedication to families. Guided by a passion for babies, I ventured into nursing in 2003, setting a course to make a difference. While spending almost two years in the NICU at Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital, my personal journey into motherhood ignited a profound calling to support breastfeeding mothers and their little ones. Nurturing my own children through breastfeeding added new depth to my passion. My path weaved through parenting and nursing, marked by the birth of two more children, enriching my experiences. In 2015, a pivotal moment drew me back to nursing, driven by the determination to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Joining St. Luke's lactation team, I guided mothers and well-babies through breastfeeding journeys for the 5 years I worked there. In this period, I welcomed two more children with oral restrictions, deepening my empathy for families facing similar challenges. In early 2020, after stepping away from the hospital, fate led me to work closely with mothers and babies in private practice at Bayou City Breastfeeding Lactation Consultants. Concurrently, I joined Dr. James Liu's office, specializing in oral restrictions and pre/post-frenotomy support—a topic close to my heart. From a young age, helping others was my calling. As a RN-turned-mother, I feel molded for this moment; connecting with parents, offering expertise, empathy, and grace. It's a privilege to nurture parents' confidence in the care of their baby, no matter the feeding method. My unwavering commitment drives me to seek advanced training in lactation, offering top-notch support for families navigating infant feeding complexities. My journey blends personal experiences with professional dedication, empowering me to stand with mothers and babies, providing unparalleled support. I eagerly anticipate guiding you through your breastfeeding journey, be it the early days or unique challenges.

Hey there, lovely souls! 🤍 Welcome to a world where you're not alone on this incredible motherhood journey. I'm Karen, and I've traveled a path that weaves together my nursing roots and my current role as an IBCLC, all for the love of mothers, babies, and families like yours. Fresh out of nursing school in 2010, my heart found its home in the Labor & Delivery Unit of Women’s Hospital of Texas. I'd say it's where my true connection with expecting and new mothers truly blossomed. In 2015, my dedication bore fruit as I became an IBCLC. I led the Lactation program at St. Luke's Vintage, building it from the ground up. In 2018, I joined forces with a team treating tongue and lip ties, mirroring my experience as a mother of three tongue-tied children. And you know what? Life came full circle in 2019 when I got the chance to become a part of the Bayou City Breastfeeding family. Our new office in Magnolia? It's more than a space – it's a haven of love, support, and education. Breastfeeding my babies wasn't just about feeding – it was a journey filled with sleepless nights, endless feeding sessions, and countless pump routines. Those challenges and joys shaped the Lactation Consultant I am today. My three energetic boys? They've been my greatest teachers, pushing me towards my calling and purpose. Every tear and every hurdle has only deepened my passion. Beyond my professional world, my faith and family keep me grounded. Our nightly Bible stories, witnessing my boys grow in faith, and the precious moments with my three babies – they remind me daily of life's blessings. Life as a working mother might be a whirlwind, but every moment, every challenge is worth it. In this journey, I'm not just an IBCLC. I'm your partner, your supporter, and your friend. So, if you're searching for someone who understands, champions, and walks with you through motherhood, look no further. Let's embrace the beauty of nurturing and unwavering support together with Bayou City Breastfeeding. 🤱🏽♥️🤍

Hello, I’m Katelyn Kleiber, and I’m passionate about empowering families on their breastfeeding journey. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Lactation Consultant (RLC), I’ve dedicated my career to supporting new parents and their little ones. I took a unique path to becoming an IBCLC. Unlike many others, I started working in lactation before experiencing my own breastfeeding journey. But my fascination with a woman’s incredible ability to grow and sustain life has been with me since childhood. This lifelong passion for women’s health led me to explore various avenues within the field. Then came my “aha” moment: lactation. I realized there was a significant gap in support for postpartum families, and I felt drawn to fill it. Guided by this newfound purpose, I embarked on my journey as a lactation consultant. Since July 2022, I’ve officially held the title of IBCLC. However, my journey began earlier—back in December 2021—when I worked with clients as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) and intern. These experiences shaped my approach to lactation support. I firmly believe that our bodies and beings are interconnected. When working with families, I consider both mother and baby as part of a system. It’s essential to address complications on both sides. But my philosophy extends beyond medical care. I create realistic, sustainable plans that preserve positive relationships around feedings. Breastfeeding isn’t just about nutrition; it’s a beautiful dance between two souls. I encourage laid-back breastfeeding, allowing families to feed without cumbersome nursing pillows. Babies can use their reflexes to their advantage, making feeding a more natural experience. At Bayou City Breastfeeding, we’ve designed a care model that allows us to continue supporting families over weeks, months, or even years. These meaningful relationships are incredibly special. Witnessing progress and positive changes during our journey together fills me with joy. Breastfeeding success isn’t a solo endeavor. Families—partners, grandparents, and all—are crucial. Their support eases the transition into life with a newborn. Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone plays a vital role. Every family is unique. I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and dreams. Whether it’s baby-led latch, side-lying bottle feeding, or other techniques, I tailor my recommendations to fit their specific situation. Realistic, doable plans ensure families thrive. Breastfeeding can be overwhelming. When mothers feel uncertain or stressed, I work collaborativel with the mother to identify stressors and create a personalized strategy to minimize discomfort. We’re a team, supporting each other through the ups and downs. When I’m not helping families, you’ll find me exploring the world. Traveling allows me to learn from different cultures and connect with people. I’m an avid reader, diving into books that expand my horizons. And nature—oh, how it rejuvenates my soul! Whether hiking through lush forests or strolling along sandy shores, I find solace in the great outdoors

Five years as an IBCLC and three years prior as a CLC have given me a deep understanding of the joys and challenges that come with nurturing little ones. I believe in taking a holistic approach to lactation support, seeing the breastfeeding dyad as more than just the baby. By addressing the physical, emotional, and environmental factors at play, I'm able to provide comprehensive support tailored to your unique needs and preferences. When I'm not in my professional role, you'll likely find me in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals and experimenting with new recipes – cooking is my happy place! So, if you're ready to embark on a journey of breastfeeding success, I'm here to guide and cheer you on every step of the way. Let's make your breastfeeding goals a reality – together!

I've been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for the past 18 years, though my journey in supporting breastfeeding mothers spans over 30 years. For the last two years, I've been working in private practice for Bayou City Breastfeeding, following a rewarding career as a hospital-based IBCLC specializing in the critical first days of breastfeeding and NICU support for 15 years. Hello, I'm Krysta Paulo, BSN, RN, IBCLC, and I'm honored to journey alongside families as they navigate the beautiful, sometimes challenging, world of breastfeeding. For the past four years, I've poured my heart into lactation support, drawing from a rich background in psychology and nursing. My journey into lactation consulting began during my time as a Mother/Baby and NICU RN, where I found myself drawn to the intricacies of breastfeeding. Witnessing the profound bond that forms between mother and baby during these tender moments ignited a passion within me to offer unwavering support to breastfeeding families. My approach to lactation support is grounded in a belief in individualized care and empowerment. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I work closely with each family to create a plan that aligns with their unique goals and values. Whether it's virtual visits or in-person consultations, I meet families where they are, ensuring that their concerns, preferences, and aspirations guide our journey together. What I find most rewarding about supporting breastfeeding families is witnessing that magical moment when it all clicks - when a mother fully embraces her role and settles into her new identity with confidence and grace. It's a moment I cherish deeply, knowing that I've played a part in fostering that connection. Outside of my professional role, I find immense joy in being a mother and a small business owner. Creativity fuels my spirit, whether I'm working on projects with my Cricut or exploring the great outdoors. As for breastfeeding, it's not just a job for me - it's a deeply personal journey. Becoming a mother myself after becoming an IBCLC opened my eyes to the profound bond it creates between mother and infant. It's a sacred, irreplaceable connection that I wish every mother could experience. In the breastfeeding journey, I believe that the role of other family members, whether it's partners, grandparents, or siblings, is invaluable. Their support and understanding can make all the difference, providing a strong foundation of encouragement for the breastfeeding dyad. When a mother feels uncertain or overwhelmed about breastfeeding, I offer reassurance and guidance, reminding her that breastfeeding can look different for every mother and baby. Together, we explore communication signals and techniques that resonate with her unique situation, empowering her to trust her instincts and find her rhythm. As for techniques or methods, I advocate for a baby-led approach, embracing the natural instincts of both mother and infant. It's a journey of discovery and connection, guided by love and trust. In essence, my role as an IBCLC isn't just about offering lactation support - it's about nurturing relationships, fostering empowerment, and celebrating the beautiful bond between mother and baby. And I consider it a true privilege to be a part of each family's breastfeeding journey.

Hi there! I'm Amanda Wilson, RN IBCLC, but you can just call me Mandy. Let me give you a glimpse into my journey and approach to lactation support. My path to becoming an IBCLC was deeply personal. After facing my own breastfeeding struggles with my first son in 2015, I realized the critical need for accessible help and support. As a Labor and Delivery nurse, I made it my mission to aid new moms with breastfeeding, often becoming the go-to person when lactation support was scarce. This passion led me to obtain my IBCLC certification in December 2021, following years of dedication in the field. With a background in both nursing and lactation support, I blend the best of both worlds in my practice. I have a holistic approach, preferring conservative options and homeopathic remedies while valuing the importance of Western medicine when needed. What drives me most in my work is witnessing the triumphs of breastfeeding families. From setting goals to achieving milestones, I find immense joy in helping mothers bond with their babies through breastfeeding. Every family is unique, and I tailor my support accordingly. By discussing specific goals and concerns, I create individualized plans to meet their needs. And when uncertainty or overwhelm arises, I offer validation, simplification, and a focus on small victories. In my practice, I believe in the power of different techniques for different situations. From co-bathing to utilizing nipple shields when necessary, I advocate for responsive parenting and safe co-sleeping while educating parents on their options. Beyond my professional role, you'll find me hitting the pavement as an avid runner. For almost 25 years, Saturday mornings have been reserved for 10+ mile runs with my running crew. As Thomas Edison wisely said, "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always just to try one more time." This quote resonates deeply with me as I continue to support and empower breastfeeding families on their journeys.
“I wish I knew about Bornbir sooner, as it's so important to surround yourself with experts who understand during those overwhelming moments and share evidence-based information.”
“I found my birth doula on Bornbir. After submitting my needs, I was able to connect with several awesome doulas that are within a local distance from me.”
“Bornbir is a powerful network. It makes connecting with maternal providers so much easier. It means supporting one another through this parenthood journey, no matter what stage you are in.”
