What's the Cost of Hiring a Night Nanny in Lansing, MI?

The cost of a night nanny in Lansing, MI can vary depending on the specific services needed, the experience of the nanny, and the number of hours required. On average, night nannies in Lansing, MI can cost anywhere from $15 to $30 per hour. It's important to contact local agencies or individual nannies to get a more accurate quote based on your specific needs.

The cost of a night nanny in Lansing, MI can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Lansing, MI, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Choosing a doula is about finding someone you feel safe with, supported by, and truly listened to. I believe every family deserves to feel respected, informed, and cared for during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to create a calm, steady presence so parents can focus on welcoming their baby with confidence. I am a certified Postpartum Doula, a DONA trained Birth Doula, a Lactation Specialist, and VBAC certified. I also have training in techniques such as Spinning Babies, the Miles Circuit, and a variety of labor positions and comfort measures that can help support progress and reduce discomfort during labor. My role during birth is to help create a calm environment, offer practical comfort techniques, and support both the birthing person and their partner so they feel informed and empowered throughout the experience. After birth, my focus shifts to helping families rest, recover, and adjust to life with their new baby. Postpartum support can include newborn care guidance, feeding support, emotional encouragement, and helping parents find their rhythm during those early weeks. Every family is different, and I meet people where they are and support them in the ways that feel most helpful to them. I proudly accept Medicaid as well as private pay so that more families can access doula support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Supporting families during this time is truly meaningful work to me, and I feel honored to be invited into such an important moment in people’s lives. When I am not working with families, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and visiting the beach where I love collecting rocks along the shore.

Megan was with us for 12 hours a night, for 12 weeks, starting the night we came home from the hospital with our newborn. I have nothing but great things to say about Debra! I was her client during 2024, and had my son in November 2024. I never hired a doula with my oldest so the process was as new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Debra met me where I was at and guided me through the process so it was effortless. She was always available either by text or call and always checked in on me and made sure that I had any information and support I may need! I'm not in contact with my mother so Debra, being and mother and grandmother herself brought the motherly vibes which looking back is something I personally preferred Vs having a doula around my age. She actively listened to my preferences surrounding my birth experience and when the time came she was both respectful and thoughtful of my wishes. She advocated for things I didn't want in the delivery room for me while I was deep in labor. If you want a kind, caring, compassionate, reliable, and loving doula please don't think twice about hiring Debra you will not regret it!
