My goal is to provide calm, knowledgeable support so families can rest, recover, and feel confident during this important transition. Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a certifying Birth & Postpartum Doula, professional nanny and trained Newborn Care Specialist based in Lethbridge, Alberta. I provide overnight newborn & infant care along with postpartum support for families during the early weeks and months after welcoming a new baby. I bring over 20 years of professional childcare experience, including extensive work as a travel nanny supporting families in their homes around Europe & Canada. These experiences have allowed me to work closely with infants, children, and parents in many different environments, strengthening my ability to adapt to each family’s unique needs and parenting style. My background also includes experience working in healthcare environments supporting NICU and pediatric units, which has deepened my understanding of newborn development and the importance of creating a calm, reassuring environment for both baby and parents. My philosophy is that every family deserves compassionate, non-judgmental support during the transition into parenthood. I believe parents already have strong instincts, and my role is to provide reassurance, guidance, and practical support so they can feel confident caring for their baby. Since I can remember, I have always found deep love and interest in the perinatal period. My first encounter with pregnancy and birth occurred when I was very young; my mum showed me the 1995 film Nine Months, directed by Chris Columbus, starring Julianne Moore and Hugh Grant, and I was hooked! Essentially, I watched any movie or TV show (that I was aware of) that featured the perinatal period. Some of the shows that I have watched countless times are One Born Every Minute (Channel 4) and Call The Midwife (BBC One). I bring the film and shows up because it is an integral part of the story that led me to become a doula; it kept the spark alive long enough for me to find a way forward into working within the birth and postpartum world. Then, when I went to Mount Royal University to get my Bachelor of Arts degree, it only felt natural to accompany it with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies, so I see myself as a certified feminist (lol). I have always believed that people are entitled to feel empowered during their birth, and with that comes support, which is where I come in. As your doula, it is my job to support you and your birthing team throughout the duration of your birth. I will never make decisions on your behalf or try to influence your choices, but I will support you in making those decisions, and yes, that includes postpartum care. I will hold space for you and your support team, and I will do my best to help you advocate for your wishes. I understand that the perinatal period is a very vulnerable time, and I feel honoured and blessed to be able to accompany you on your journey.

Tracy's passion for serving and nurturing people goes way back to childhood. While she often said she wanted to be a waitress when she grew up, she absolutely loved babies and simply wanted to be a mommy - little did she know the 2 were synonymous! Fast forward to adulthood where, thanks to reality TV shows, she became an armchair birth expert. Only to find out with her first pregnancy and birth that she really knew nothing. After having her second baby, she stumbled across doula work and realized how beneficial a supportive birth professional could be, thus realizing her true passion in life (finally!!) Nurturer + passionate about birth + love of babies = the perfect mix for doula work! Tracy is a Certified Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula & Postpartum Doula.
