My name is Ronae (pronounced like the more commonly spelled "Renee"), and I am a Certified Birth Doula and Certified Lactation Specialist located in Fort Wayne, IN. I have always been passionate about serving and encouraging other women. Through my own parenting journey over the years, I have developed an avid interest in all things birth and breastfeeding. I have been a certified Birth Doula since 2020 through ICEA and Global Birth Community and have been a Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS through LEC) since 2021. I have experience in supporting births in hospitals, in birth centers, and at home. I believe that women have a right to nonjudgmental encouragement and support throughout their birth story, whatever they choose and wherever it takes them. I feel it is especially important for birth workers to empower women to understand their options in pregnancy and birth so they are able to provide true informed consent, playing an active role in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.

My name is Kristin McKee. I am a child of God, a women, a wife to an amazing husband since 2020, and a mother to two sweet little boys and an angel baby gone way too soon. I am a Labor and Delivery nurse since 2020; user of the Marquette Method NFP model since 2020; a Natural Family Planning Instructor through the Marquette University since 2022 and Certified since 2024; a Certified Lactation Consultant since 2023; and lastly, a women, wife, and mother navigating this world in the most natural and holistic way for my family.

I’m an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). That’s just a fancy way of saying I know a lot about boobs and breastfeeding 😉 At times, breastfeeding can be really challenging but my goal is to meet and support mommas where they are, providing help and encouragement along the way. My passion is to help save lives, one at a time, through the miraculous gift of mother’s milk.

I officially began my birth work journey in 2018 and have gone on to work as a doula, lactation counselor, and birth assistant. I feel the idea of supporting women in their birth journey actually took root with my firstborn in 1994. I loved and cherished the guidance I received from other women and provide the care that meant so much to me. I have 4 grown children 2 of which were hospital births and 2 home births. I feel honored to be able to share my experience with women and families. I approach birth holistically. My name is Josie Patton. I'm a wife and mom of 4 boys including a set of twins, all of whom I have or am currently breastfeeding. I obtained my CLS in 2021 after the birth of my second son. I had a lot of struggles with my first and although we made it to our goal for nursing it took a lot of work on my behalf to make it happen. I knew then that I wanted to be the person who helps other families in our community that have nursing/feeding struggles. By Design Lactation came to life when I took my step of faith that God had big plans for me to make my dream of helping others come true. I wholly believe that we are designed to provide life and then sustain it after birth.
