Hi everyone! After I became a mom, I realized how much more I wish I had known. I looked back at all sorts of decisions I made in the birth process that affected my experience. My passion now is to enter the journey with others and make sure they have the information and resources that they need to confidently make decisions for themselves. Birth is also a very vulnerable and major transition in life for both the birther and the partner. My role is to provide reassurance and emotional support to both! Helping you create a plan to come as close to your desired birth experience as possible is also on my list of to do’s. You may know what you want it to feel like but you’re not sure how to achieve that. I’m here to help! Whether you’re having a c-section, a med-free birth, a birth with pain medications, a home birth or a hospital birth, I’m happy to support those decisions and make it the best experience possible. I see myself as a gap-filler. What ever seems to be missing for you (physical, emotional, or informational support), I’m there to fill it in.

Sarah Long is a doula trained through Dona international. She completed her training in 2020 and has been passionate about birth since her first pregnancy nearly 10 years ago. First with her own birth experiences, then with providing support in the birth of her nephew, Sarah was drawn to the birth world. She felt the urge to learn all that she could to help pregnant people feel empowered to gain knowledge and make decisions that are in their best interest. In 2011 she and her husband found out they were expecting twins during their first pregnancy. They were scared, excited, overwhelmed, and nervous. Because twin pregnancies are considered "high risk," and both babies were in the breech position, she had a scheduled caesarian at 37 weeks. Although she didn't get the birth that she had envisioned, her postpartum journey with twins was very positive. Thanks to lots of help from family members and friends, Sarah was not alone with her baby girls until they were three months old. She felt like having so much support and help is the only way she survived. Once the girls were a little bit older, they felt ready to grow their family again. Pregnancy number two was a singleton. This time around Sarah knew she wanted a different birth. She attempted a v-bac (vaginal birth after caesarian). She had a very long and challenging labor that ended in another caesarian. Outside of helping pregnant families, Sarah loves to spend as much time outside as possible. She loves playing games, camping, and going to the lake. She believes that our bodies are designed perfectly and they know exactly what to do to birth a baby. My name is Ronae (pronounced like the more commonly spelled "Renee"), and I am a Certified Birth Doula and Certified Lactation Specialist located in Fort Wayne, IN. I have always been passionate about serving and encouraging other women. Through my own parenting journey over the years, I have developed an avid interest in all things birth and breastfeeding. I have been a certified Birth Doula since 2020 through ICEA and Global Birth Community and have been a Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS through LEC) since 2021. I have experience in supporting births in hospitals, in birth centers, and at home. I believe that women have a right to nonjudgmental encouragement and support throughout their birth story, whatever they choose and wherever it takes them. I feel it is especially important for birth workers to empower women to understand their options in pregnancy and birth so they are able to provide true informed consent, playing an active role in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.

I have been supporting families in Northwest Ohio as a Birth Doula since 2018 and a Certified Lactation Counselor, Postpartum Doula, Infant Care Specialist, and Childbirth Educator since 2022. My approach to doula care focuses on holistic, inclusive, non-judgmental support. I believe there are many ways to birth and I strive to create a safe and loving space for each client. In my spare time, or when I'm not running kids to sporting events, I enjoy camping, reading, crafting, visiting new coffee shops, and sports.

I officially began my birth work journey in 2018 and have gone on to work as a doula, lactation counselor, and birth assistant. I feel the idea of supporting women in their birth journey actually took root with my firstborn in 1994. I loved and cherished the guidance I received from other women and provide the care that meant so much to me. I have 4 grown children 2 of which were hospital births and 2 home births.
