Tessa Neilson is a Vancouver-based Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner offering evidence-informed care for women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. Her work integrates classical Chinese medicine with a modern clinical understanding of the nervous, hormonal, and musculoskeletal systems. Treatments are calm, individualized, and hands-on—using acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine to support physiological regulation and whole-body balance. Tessa has advanced training in reproductive and perinatal care, and works with patients at all stages—from cycle regulation and fertility support to pregnancy, labour preparation, and postpartum recovery. She offers in-home and hospital-based acupuncture support during labour, as well as treatments in her South Granville clinic.

Over the past two decades, Jill has supported over 500 families through childbirth and the postpartum period and taught lifesaving CPR skills to over 30,000 students. She believes that having a cohesive community is important for families to thrive, and continues to collaborate and foster connections with many local practitioners to ensure comprehensive care for her clients. She teaches prenatal classes in the Vancouver area (and across the Lower Mainland for private sessions) and offers tailored consults to families prenatally, in the postpartum period, and also trains hired care-givers who care for infants. Her comprehensive Prepared Parents Package ensures that her clients are well prepared, informed, safety-conscious, and can develop community contacts throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Ongoing education is important for practitioners in all fields. Jill attends conferences across Canada and online to deepen her knowledge and skill sets. I am a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Maternity Care, including Obstetrics, Labour & Delivery, and Postpartum Nursing, with more than 10 years of combined international midwifery and Canadian nursing experience. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, specialized perinatal nursing education from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from a well-known medical sciences university. I have maintained strong academic performance throughout my education. Throughout my career, I have supported thousands of mothers and newborns during pregnancy, labour, birth, postpartum recovery, and the early newborn period. As a registered midwife, I independently attended a large number of births and gained extensive experience managing both routine deliveries and complex or urgent obstetrical situations. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-informed, and safety-focused maternity care while helping mothers and families feel supported, informed, and confident during one of the most important stages of their lives. I am available to provide professional maternity and postpartum support with a strong commitment to maternal and newborn safety, comfort, and well-being.

I am a certified birth doula. I have been in business for 9 years and have supported over 500 families. I specialize in high risk births including V-backs and multiples. I also enjoy low risk and out of hospital births. I love clinic births as well as home births. Some very special births have been both in and out of the hospital setting.
