About me

My love of childbirth was ignited after the birth of my first daughter.  I was blessed with continuous support during my own birth experience and knowing the difference it made for me, I was inspired to be a part of a community of women helping each other through the most transformative and empowering moment of their lives.  My journey began focused on midwifery; however, after learning of doula work and the direct, personal impact it can have on a woman’s birth story, I knew this path was a better fit for me.  As a student of Mother Tree Birth Services, I completed a DONA approved birth doula training in 2014, followed by a 6-month intensive birth doula internship. I support all types of birth in all settings. I’m trained in Hypnobirth, the Mongan Method as well as traditional natural birth methods in addition to planned epidural birth. I will support your choices as if they were my own.

Complimentary Consult Our first step is to schedule a 60 minute consult (free of charge), to discuss your pregnancy and your birth hopes. I strongly recommend that your partner attend this initial meeting as well. We will discuss any ongoing prenatal care and different birth scenarios. This will begin the process of developing both our partnership and my understanding of what you want as your birth story. Prenatal Visits These two prenatal visits will allow us to check in with how you and your partner are feeling, discuss how to prepare for your birth, and learn techniques to use during labor to increase your comfort and peace of mind. Each visit will be customized to your needs. Lending Library Unlimited access to a variety of titles to encourage and provide support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Support As your doula, I am committed to being available to you by text, phone, and email for any and all questions/concerns/updates during your pregnancy and 2 weeks postpartum. Labor and Birth Support My role is to provide you with the empowerment, comfort, and support you desire throughout your labor and delivery, and to be your advocate during this process. Although I cannot provide you with medical advice, my experience allows me to discuss options knowledgeably with you and your care team to support your informed decision-making. I will remain at your side during labor, and stay for at least one hour after your birth. Once baby is born, I can assist in initiating skin-to-skin contact for you and your partner, the first breastfeeding, and help you with any additional comfort measures Postpartum Care Visit After you settle in at home as a new family, we can begin to schedule your 60-minute visit anytime between 1-10 days postpartum . During this visit, we will discuss how you and your partner feel about your birth story, and your current emotional and physical status. If you have any newborn or breastfeeding questions, I will assist in getting the answers you need. I will also provide a postpartum phone call at 6 weeks to check in.

Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta encapsulation includes pick-up of your placenta within 24 hours of your birth. I will bring my own equipment, come to your home to prepare your placenta. Your kitchen will be sanitized before and after encapsulation. This is a two-step process: First day is preparing the placenta and begin drying it. The dehydration process takes 24 hours so the second day is grinding the dehydrated placenta and encapsulating it. You will be left with a jar of your capsules! Your placenta will be prepared, dehydrated, and encapsulated following the Traditional Chinese Method.
