I graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Biology and Social Welfare and trained as a doula through Cornerstone Doula Trainings. My philosophy is centered on supporting my clients every step of the way to feel empowered, strong and supported through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I want clients to have information and resources to confidently explore their choices and find what works for them and their family. Hi, I’m Emma—founder of Solstice Birth Co, and a birth worker with over a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My journey into this work began in a deeply personal way—witnessing birth as a child, I was struck by how powerful, raw, and transformative it was. That early experience stayed with me and ultimately led me down the path of midwifery. Years later, I went on to have my own home birth with my daughter in 2009—an experience that further rooted my belief in the body’s innate wisdom and the importance of feeling safe, supported, and truly seen during birth. I went on to train as a traditionally trained midwife (CPM, LM), working hands-on with families across California and building a strong clinical and intuitive foundation in the midwifery model of care—one that honors pregnancy and birth as physiologic, sacred, and deeply human experiences. At this time, I am no longer offering home birth midwifery care. Instead, I’ve shifted into a more integrative and supportive role—one that allows me to walk alongside women and families in a deeply personalized way through Solstice Birth Co.

Welcome! My name is Rose, and I'm a certified birth doula. I will accompany you in your pregnancy, labor and postpartum journey. I provide assistance during pregnancy and labor by giving parents the necessary information they need to make informed decisions about their care. I provide newborn assistance, information on childbirth education, breastfeeding, lactation and postpartum support. As a community doula I believe in healing the body. The reason many women do not heal during postpartum is because there are still many toxins trapped in their bodies that prevent them from healing.
