I would highly recommend Darby as a midwife! As a first time mom she was so informative and gave me all the knowledge I needed at every appointment. She aligned so well with my views of wanting a natural, calm, as God designed birth. My birth experience was long and intense as are many but she always remained calm and collected. Giving me assurance that my body would do as it was created to. She embodies knowledge, a sense of calm, and an excitement for new life. She stands by a women’s right to choose how her birth and baby will be brought into this world. Thank you Darby, I look back at my birth with awe of my body and what it can do through patience and perseverance. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Andrea & Darby are a dream team! They’re loving, listen attentively to your concerns and preferences, and they are a wealth of knowledge for all your questions. Pre and post natal visits were very helpful and through, not to mention the bonus emotional support you get from their experience and motherly style of care, very different from I got from the OBGYN office. Rae supported us as a doula and birth photographer with the birth of our second daughter at St. Anne's in Burien, WA. I can't recommend Aneke highly enough. Having her by my side was one of the best decisions I made for my birth experience. During labor, she continuously helped position and reposition my body using different techniques to encourage my baby to rotate into a better position and descend. When contractions became most intense, she provided counter-pressure and massage that brought tremendous relief. During the pushing stage, she suggested different pushing positions based on my progress and used warm compresses to help protect my perineum. Her expertise, calm guidance, and constant support played a huge role in helping me achieve a vaginal birth. Most importantly, Aneke is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. Every time we encountered a challenge during labor or breastfeeding, she always had thoughtful and effective solutions. She never stopped encouraging me, helping me overcome difficult moments, and giving me both the courage to get through childbirth and the confidence to continue my breastfeeding journey.

I want to start by saying when I first was getting a doula I had no idea what to expect or what a doula really would do during a birth. Jesse explained everything so beautifully on what a doula is used for, what the positives a doula can bring to a birthing experience, how doulas can help post-partum, and much more. I didn’t have too hard of a pregnancy but was diagnosed with Cholestasis in my third trimester which led to us needing to be induced around 37 weeks. I expressed my worries and scares with Jesse and we made a plan 💕 Jesse attended a birthing class with my husband and I as we were wanting to learn a little more about the birthing process and see if there was any educational assistance for inductions. Jesse was always one step ahead when it came to our questions and if we weren’t sure, she would ask or would try to find answers. The day came for our induction. We went in at 6am on the 13th and began the process of induction around 9:30am. Jesse was texting with me and checking in on me through the whole beginning process. I asked her if she would come once we got into active labor (which I didn’t know when that would come obviously) but she came that afternoon full of absolute love, excitement, and just a powerful presence. Through the full 39 hours of labor Jesse was by my side through every wake up, every contraction, every scare, every med pass, trying to get to the bathroom and then getting stuck on the toilet in the middle of contractions, reminding me to change positions, and every piece in between. The first 24hrs of labor were full of pressure releases, dance parties trying to work on dilation, watching a movie while trying to bounce on the exercise ball, and having LOTS of mental health check ins. My husband and I are so blessed to have had Jesse with us through this crazy adventure of our first birth, but I know 100% that we will NOT be doing another one without a doula. Jesse’s presence brought so much peace to both of us and made this rough labor a much happier experience to look back on. Thank you Jesse for all you do for the mamas and I can’t wait to reach out again for our next birth 💕 I couldn’t recommend someone more than Jesse to have by your side!!!!

Laura was an incredible support to us before, during, and after the birth of our daughter. She helped us feel prepared through thorough prenatal meetings and by sharing helpful local resources, in addition to the resources she provided herself. During labor, Laura was especially valuable in helping me manage pain and offering different laboring positions and techniques. Her calm, knowledgeable presence made a meaningful difference when things became challenging and we needed to adapt our birth plan. One of the things I appreciated most was how intentional Laura was about making sure we felt comfortable with the decisions being made throughout the birth process. She helped us slow down, understand our options, and make decisions we felt good about. I always felt supported and empowered to advocate for myself, knowing I had someone experienced in my corner. Shana was my doula for the entirety of my pregnancy, birth, and the few days she offers postpartum. As well as doing a maternity photoshoot for my husband and I and grabbing shots in the hospital. I could not recommend her more! She is so good to share with you the facts and wait to be asked to share her opinion if you desire. She has had many of her own experiences both good and bad through her four children to where she is able to relate to a lot and understand what your feeling and can help navigate that. She not only supported me, but also my husband and encouraged him to be there with me. She helped us remember the plan we had made and helped us to stick to it the best we could. Her calming presence in a room and her willingness to be as involved as you needed was outstanding. I could go on and on and highly recommend her as your doula. If you’re doubting the need for another person in the room I highly recommend you reconsider!
