Hiring Neisha was one of the best decisions I made as I prepared for childbirth, and I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone. While I was initially unsure about whether I wanted to hire a doula, after interviewing Neisha I was convinced that it would be helpful to bring her on to support me and my husband before, during, and after the delivery of our first child, and I was not disappointed. I ultimately had a very positive birth experience, and I credit Neisha for giving me the preparation, knowledge, and validation needed to make informed decisions and clearly communicate my preferences during labor and delivery. Early on, she provided us with ample online resources to begin our childbirth preparation. During our prenatal meetings we developed a birth plan, practiced comfort techniques, and discussed the essentials of breastfeeding and newborn care. Throughout my labor Neisha calmly fielded our increasingly anxious calls about whether to take Pitocin and when to begin the epidural. She was a reassuring presence in the delivery room, suggesting alternative positions and providing encouragement to me and my husband through two hours of pushing. Postpartum, Neisha helped with breastfeeding, and continued to check in for several weeks after the end of our official contract as I dealt with a difficult and unexpected complication. Neisha’s professionalism and expertise combined with her warmth and sense of humor made her an invaluable part of my birth team. I would absolutely hire her again. (PS - she is also an incredible massage therapist!)

Our primary reasons for hiring a doula were to learn breathing and pain relief techniques for labor and to have somebody in the delivery room who could advocate for us. Neisha surely did not disappoint. She is an excellent doula. During our time working with her, she was nonjudgmental, very organized and readily available to answer all of our questions. The readings, infographics and videos Neisha shared each week were incredibly helpful and provided much needed guidance when things were feeling overwhelming. Her resources not only made us feel more confident when we had conversations with our medical providers but also made us feel closer to our baby over the course of the pregnancy. We really did feel so informed and prepared for labor, and it reduced our anxieties a great deal. We also can’t say enough about how important it was to have Neisha with us at the hospital during labor. She made sure to understand our needs and desires and did well to advocate for them all while being kind and courteous to every medical provider we interacted with. At times we would have felt lost, Neisha was there to suggest different body and bed positions that were crucial in helping labor progress. She even provided some massaging that really seemed to help baby down into a more advanced station after several stagnant hours! We’re so happy and grateful to have had Neisha with us for this journey.

Her warmth and empathy made us feel truly cared for every step of the way. One of the most invaluable aspects of her care was her expertise in massage therapy. She knew exactly how to help me relax, easing tension and making labor more manageable. When our baby wasn’t descending as expected, Neisha used her deep knowledge of different labor positions to help reposition him, which made a huge difference in the progression of labor. Her presence was not only professional but also deeply personal. She was a calming force, an advocate, and a true companion through the entire experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better doula, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for compassionate and knowledgeable birth support.
