I am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor, Certified Patient Advocate, and am pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have helped hundreds of families overcome basic to more severe breastfeeding and infant feeding challenges working in the home, hospital, and virtually throughout the world. Brianna, originally from Las Vegas, NV, embarked on her educational journey towards becoming a midwife when she moved to Santa Barbara in 2015. There she studied and earned her BS in Psychology. In 2017, she attended a DONA doula training, a pivotal step in her commitment to supporting women during labor. As a student, Brianna volunteered at a local maternity home, offering prenatal nutrition classes and doula services. In 2019, she expanded her impact by volunteering with AmeriCorps as a Community Health Worker in Southern Utah, addressing social determinants of health. This experience underscored the strength of community and the importance of continuity of care. After completing her 12-month term, Brianna moved to San Diego to attend Midwifery school and commenced her clinical placement with San Diego Midwife in 2020. As a midwife, Brianna blends her foundation in psychology with specialized midwifery training, emphasizing a compassionate and empathetic approach. Her dedication extends to providing holistic care throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum phases, emphasizing both the physical and emotional well-being of mothers. The Lactation Consultant on duty empowered me to breastfeed him and gave me tools so that I could bring him home sooner than expected. She inspired me to follow a career into lactation. Hey hey! I'm Dairian — an occupational therapist (OT) since 2013, IBCLC since 2021, and trained postpartum doula. I believe maternal and infant health are intricately linked, and my work reflects that. I specialize in lactation, infant feeding, and infant development, with a focus on concerns like tongue ties and bottle refusal. I also offer hands-on manual therapy, including craniosacral therapy and myofascial release, to support the whole feeding relationship.
