Hello! My name is Amy. I am a passionate advocate for birth and believe in supporting every woman's choices in birth and beyond. I adapt my approach to meet the unique needs of each family. I have over 25 years of experience as an early childhood educator, childbirth educator, and both labor and postpartum doula. While supporting each family, I focus on a holistic approach, including physical, emotional, and informational support. My love for children began at an early age, and I pursued my education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I spent many years in the classroom, building relationships with families and educating young minds. I continued my passion by becoming q Certified Childbirth Educator with Lamaze, DONA trained and ProDoula Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, VBAC Doula, Certified Carseat Tech, and has also trained with Spinning Babies as a Parent Educator This training has taught me how to help women optimize fetal positioning during pregnancy and birth, reduce discomforts during pregnancy, and make the birthing process less painful. My passion for advocacy and supporting mothers started when I became pregnant, navigated motherhood, and raising children. I value time with her grown-married children, grand children, and husband. I loves outdoor activities including raising animals, growing a garden, hiking, and enjoying life barefoot. My faith is essential to her, and her love for learning never ends. My life experiences will provide you with a knowledgeable, caring advocate on your journey to parenthood. I am passionate about Supporting Strong Women, Tiny Humans, and Growing Families. We chose to have Amy be our doula for labor and post-partum and are so glad we did. Amy provided so much support during my lengthy labor, she made my husband and I feel more comfortable, confident and able to conquer the delivery. Post-partum was filled with so many unknowns, and Amy helped us with getting a grasp on newborns by providing guidance, support, and advice. We are looking forward to having Amy support us again for labor and deliver, and post-partum with our next babies.

I am slowly participating in a birth doula certification class through A Woman Who Serves; I will do births at very low cost (as of 7/12/26) until I feel like I’m more experienced. I’m a mom of five living daughters and I’ve had three pregnancy losses. All of my live births were different (see below), so I feel like I can support many different mamas and her decisions. I believe that all humans are created in the image and likeness of God and should be treated as such! I would love to share the day of your child(ren)’s birth(s) with you! No matter how it goes down, I will do my best to make it one of the best days of your life. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Here are my personal birth stories; I enjoy talking about births and babies. 😁 Daughter #1 (April 2009) Water spontaneously broke in middle of the night Contractions started naturally Epidural OB for a provider Pushed for 1.5 hours Vaginal, Hospital birth Daughter #2 (February 2016) Contractions started Labored mostly at home Midwife for a provider Midwife broke water Drug-free; no pitocin Vaginal, Hospital birth Daughter #3 (March 2017) Diagnosed IUGR at 32 weeks Scheduled early induction at 37w4d Midwife for provider Induction included Cytotec, membrane sweep, midwife breaking water All of labor was obviously in hospital Drug-free; no pitocin Vaginal; Hospital birth Daughter #4 (March 2019; this birth was a bit more exciting with a lot more detail, hahaha) Went to hospital for induction on 3/13/19; learned Baby turned footling breech sometime AFTER my 39 week ultrasound; discharged from hospital; confirmed breech with ultrasound later same day; spent that evening/night walking and working through some Spinning Babies things Woke up on 3/14/19 having irregular contractions; had an appt with chiropractor to attempt to flip baby; by 1p-130p contractions were getting stronger and more regular; back to hospital due to knowing Baby was breech; ultrasound confirmed Baby still in breech position; Meds to stop contractions; my midwife called OB to hospital to attempt to manually flip Baby; the version was a success; I was excited that a cesarean was no longer on my radar; I did NOT want a c-section. Around 525-530p, nurse “ran” into my room and told me to get on my side because Baby’s heart rate “plummeted”; I rolled over; midwife came in and checked heart monitor; midwife told me that she was gonna do a vaginal check (I don’t remember exactly why); midwife accidentally broke water when doing the check; I was excited because I knew Baby would probably be born soon; I remember telling everyone, “Let’s get this show on the road!” Haha. Within not very long (a minute or two?), a nurse had her hand/forearm up me where all the action was going to be taking place and another nurse was getting the OB on the phone and frantically saying, “STAT section”!! I was then told that the umbilical cord prolapsed and an emergency c-section needed to happen (drats!! Lol); l remember saying to everyone in my room, “Well by all means, do what you need to do.” I remember my midwife being right next to my head in the OR and she told me “Everything will be fine; we’ll take care of you and Baby.” 14ish minutes later, with me under general anesthesia, my 4th daughter was born at 5:56p. I was able to (finally) meet her in the NICU that same night. Daughter #5 (October 2020) VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean); 18.5 months after cesarean (midwife said I needed at least 18 months birth to birth to attempt a VBAC) Midwife for provider, but OB had to be present for the birth … due to VBAC? (I don’t remember why he had to be present.) Drug-free; no pitocin Most of labor was walking around outside, through Walmart, and then about an hour (or less) in a hotel room 😂😂😂😂😂 Got to hospital around 1:40 am Vaginal birth at 2:28 am

Hello everyone, my name is Yajaira (Jay) Vacanti and I'm a Certified Postpartum Doula and Infant Care Specialist located in Omaha, NE. From a young age, I was fascinated by pregnancy, newborns, and children—dreaming of becoming a baby nurse. This led me to pursue a nursing degree, but life took me down a different path in the corporate world, though still within healthcare. Becoming a doula has allowed me to bring my childhood dream to life, blending my passion for nurturing families with my healthcare background. As the oldest of three, I took on the role of caring for my siblings, and at 16, I began working as a Certified Nurse Aide in a nursing home, where I learned the profound impact of listening, empathy, and companionship. As a mother of six, I have firsthand experience with children of all ages and understand the joys and challenges of raising a family. I believe that family is life's greatest blessing, but let’s be real, it also comes with its fair share of challenges. Life changes in a big way after the birth of a child, whether it’s the first or third one. Every situation, pregnancy, birth story, baby, and postpartum period is unique. My goal is to ensure families receive the non-judgmental and compassionate support they deserve during these times. When I'm not caring for my clients, you can find me spending time with my family, reading, at church, or enjoying a good rom-com. I also love exploring new places, grabbing coffee with friends, or indulging in a little shopping spree.

As a mother of two I am in love with the world of birth and babies. One of my favorite things in the world is helping introduce new life into this world and helping families adjust to their newborn. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, and have training in lactation specialization. I hope my role in your birth/postpartum is something you're excited for and I can be someone to lean on in this incredibly emotional and exciting time. I hope that if you were to select me or not, you have a fulfilling and safe birth and your little addition to your family has a healthy debut.

Gabby was my postpartum doula and by far was the best provider who fulfilled needs I didn’t even know I had at the time. With compassion and genuine empathy and support, Gabby was able to foresee and recommend solutions to prioritize my self-care and wellness and also my daughter’s care. I felt affirmed, validated, reassured and empowered every interaction. Gabby is knowledgeable and communicates professionally and thoughtfully. Gabby is one of the few I trust to provide attentive and nurturing care for my daughter, born 2 months premature. Gabby’s presence is meaningful and my trust in her truly speaks volumes for her attention to detail and respect for individual women and their families. I highly recommend Gabby, and I often recommend her to my friends and family, even colleagues, because of the life-changing and empowering experience with her by my side through it ALL!

I have had the opportunity to work with Gabby in a couple different ways. The first being for my postpartum experience. During my pregnancy, she asked about my family's favorites meals and then created a curated grocery list and meals to prep and freeze. Not only were the meals nutritionally dense and nourishing, but they were incredibly delicious! It was so incredibly helpful to have an assortment of prepared meals that my family and I could enjoy after welcoming our third baby. My second opportunity to work with Gabby has been in the sense of physically working alongside her. As a birth photographer, I have been able to work alongside Gabby at multiple births. It is amazing to watch her support mamas and be an incredible advocate for them while providing such nurturing and loving care. Gabby has a servant's heart and that is so apparent. She treats everyone with such love and respect, has a wealth of knowledge, and her communication is top tier. I would highly recommend Gabby for all your birth keeper/doula needs. She is one in a million, truly!
