The cost of a night nanny in Plainfield, NJ can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Plainfield, NJ, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Recent review

Katia has been my postpartum doula and caregiver for my baby boy since February 2025. She consistently takes initiative in ways that truly lighten my load as a new mom. One moment that stands out was when she noticed I was juggling baby care and chores—without me even asking, she washed the baby's clothes and bedsheets, took out the trash, and even helped cut vegetables for dinner. She always notices what needs to be done and jumps in with such care and thoughtfulness—it’s clear she’s not just doing a job, but genuinely wants to support and nurture. This was my first baby, and I had never used a doula service before, so I was initially skeptical and a bit anxious about having someone new in our home during such a vulnerable and emotional time. But from the very beginning, Katia made me feel at ease. Although she has extensive experience with babies, she remains open and flexible—listening carefully to my needs and respecting our preferences. She remembered all the little things I mentioned and adapted her care accordingly. Even now, with my baby being 8 months old, I still turn to Katia when I need someone trustworthy to watch him for a few hours. That’s how much confidence and comfort she’s brought to our family. Both my husband and I are deeply grateful for her help—having Katia as our doula has been such a positive and reassuring experience. She made a lasting impact on our early journey as parents, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

I truly can’t recommend Linda enough! I hired her around the beginning of my second trimester, and she was such a wonderful source of support throughout the rest of my pregnancy journey. From helping me feel more informed and prepared for birth to answering my questions and talking through my concerns, Linda was always patient, supportive, and reassuring. She helped me better understand my options when it came to labor and delivery, talked with me about comfort and coping techniques, and made sure I felt confident making decisions that were right for me. One of the things I appreciated most was knowing I had someone I could reach out to when I had questions or simply needed reassurance. Pregnancy can come with so many emotions and uncertainties, and having that extra support made such a difference for me. Linda genuinely cares about the moms and families she works with, and I’m so grateful that she was part of my pregnancy journey. If you’re considering having a doula for prenatal, birth, or postpartum support, I absolutely recommend reaching out to her. ❤️

Hi, I’m Angela — a mother, grandmother, and postpartum doula based in New Jersey, proudly serving families throughout the NJ/NY/CT tristate area. I am deeply passionate about supporting families during the tender and transformative postpartum period, offering calm, compassionate care when it’s needed most. I have supported over 40 families and their newborns, some through birth, and several others through overnight postpartum care and newborn support, helping parents rest, recover, and confidently adjust to their new reality. While I also provide daytime care, my primary focus is overnight support for families who need specialized, hands-on assistance during the early weeks after birth. My passion for postpartum care grew from my own journey into motherhood, when I realized how essential it is for birthing parents to feel nurtured, supported, and truly seen after birth. What began as caring for family and friends naturally evolved into my calling as a postpartum doula. Later on, I expanded my work to support expectant mothers throughout pregnancy and birth, offering compassionate physical and emotional care. In addition to my doula work, I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children and teenagers, along with nearly two decades of volunteer service supporting parents, children, and teens in my community. I approach every family with warmth, respect, and a wholehearted commitment to helping you feel confident, supported, and cared for during this beautiful new chapter.

Hey, I’m Kaleish, a public health practitioner, doctoral student (in public health) and a certified full-spectrum (birth and postpartum) doula. I currently hold certifications in providing NICU doula support as well as High Risk doula support. I am currently in training to be a certified community lactation educator. Think of me as your perinatal support person. I support women and birthing people of color who are feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I started this work because I realized how many women of color are navigating pregnancy without the support, guidance, or advocacy they deserve. It deeply concerns me how often Black and Brown women have their concerns dismissed by medical providers—sometimes resulting in traumatic and avoidable birth experiences. Now, I help women and birthing people of color move from feeling unheard and unsure to feeling informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their birth preferences. If you’re a woman or birthing person of color feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed—you’re in the right place. This journey is yours. I’m simply here to hold space, answer your questions, and make sure you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. Random Facts: I've supported births at Katz Women's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hungtinton Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. I am a lefty/ left handed. I don't have a sense of direction even with a map, however, I will find my way to support you. I was born in the Caribbean and spent most of my childhood and some of my teenage years living there. I love me some 80s and 90s black sitcoms. Book Your Free Consultation: Book Now via https://calendly.com/kaysgentlehands/30min?back=1&month=2026-07

I would love the opportunity to connect with a family seeking dedicated newborn support. Please feel free to reach out to discuss your family’s needs and how I may be able to help

Recent review

We started working with Christina when our son was about two months old. He was born at 35 weeks and was dealing with reflux and intense fussiness, and as a first-time mom I was exhausted and anxious after a brief NICU stay. I had worked with several postpartum doulas, but my son’s reflux and crying often went beyond what they could manage. Christina's calm, confident presence made an immediate difference. She soothed him with real skill and patience, and for the first time I could truly rest knowing my baby was in capable hands. What sets her apart is that her support goes well beyond overnight care. She taught me how to bathe and soothe my son, how to feed him through reflux episodes, and which bottles and pacifiers worked best for him, always without judgment. Little by little, she helped me trust my own instincts. Christina pairs exceptional newborn care with genuine compassion for what new parents go through. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and caring specialist.

Hi everyone, my name is Cavelle Francis. A certified Newborn Care Specialist, sleep trainer, and virtual consultant located in the New York area. My expertise was acquired from extensive experience with parents and infants, complemented by specialized training from the University of Colorado through Coursera, the Newborn Care Training Academy, and Alison courses. I am truly passionate about guiding parents through the complexities of newborn care and fostering healthy sleep patterns in babies. I firmly believe that postpartum support is crucial for all mothers, whether they are new to motherhood or have been through it before. I aim to cultivate a supportive, non-judgmental space that honors each parent's unique journey. Ultimately, I aspire to empower every mother I work with to face the challenges of parenting with assurance. In my free time, I love to read, listen to podcasts, and travel. If you seek exceptional support on your parenting path, I would be thrilled to connect!

Recent review

Cavelle began working in our family in June 2021 taking care of our 6 day-old boy/girl twins for 8 weeks. “Taking care” is a very passive phrase to explain what Cavelle does. Cavelle and I formed a bond from the moment we met over facetime, where she offered an abundance of advise and wisdom in preparing for the twin’s arrival months before they came. I was a first time mom with zero knowledge and Cavelle has taught me absolutely everything about newborn childcare in way that is carefully and specifically tailored to the needs not only of each of my twins but also for me, and our family. Cavelle created a scheduled routine for the twins that was mindful of their growth and development as well as one that was practical for our lives in such a way that we thrived as a new family of four. Because of the way Cavelle structured and implemented our bedtime routine, our newborn twins were able to sleep in 8 hour stretches in the night by 6 weeks. I cannot emphasize enough how Cavelle’s care for the twins allowed for them to thrive and develop in their early weeks. To demonstrate Cavelle’s wealth of knowledge and expertise, when we faced medical issues or questions, our pediatrician always echoed Cavelle’s first given advice and plan of care. Thanks to Cavelle’s incredible work ethic and multi-tasking style, my husband and I were able to not only get sleep at night and be fully functioning during the day (which is unheard of for newborn parents) but also easily enjoy the luxury of one-on-one time out of the house because we knew that the twins were under the best care with no interruption in their routine. Cavelle provided guidance at every aspect of the newborn journey from breastfeeding, pumping, and breast care, to accompanying trips to the pediatrician, to soothing techniques and differentiating each type of cry for each baby. As a first time mom, Cavelle fostered confidence in me by giving me the tools required in understanding each of my twins’ individual needs and how to properly tend to them. Cavelle goes above and beyond just newborn care by putting her heart and soul into the inceptive upbringing of babies by instilling her love and exceptional expertise. It is the absolute best decision in having Cavelle join our family as a baby nurse for our twins. If you are considering Cavelle as a baby nurse, you cannot find a better person and will be fortunate to experience the hand of Cavelle in your child’s early days.

I’m Michelle, a compassionate, experienced and dedicated Newborn Care Specialist with a genuine passion for babies and supporting families during one of the most important transitions in their lives. My journey in newborn care began in Jamaica, where I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over six years on the island’s largest neonatal unit. Since moving to the United States, I have continued working in healthcare and family support as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Healthcare Assistant, Companion and Newborn Care Specialist. I have had the privilege of supporting families with newborns, twins and multiples, micro-preemies, babies with additional and specialist needs, as well as providing newborn care for surrogate families. I take the time to understand each baby’s cues, routines and individual needs, while working closely with parents to establish a nurturing environment where both baby and parents feel supported and confident. I am First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) trained, a Certified Neonatal Care Specialist and CNA. I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills, and I am looking forward to pursuing my doula training because supporting women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal journey is something I am deeply passionate about. I would describe myself as warm, dependable, patient, trustworthy and adaptable. I genuinely enjoy becoming part of a family's support system and helping make those early days and nights with a newborn a little calmer and more manageable. For me, newborn care is more than a job. It is an opportunity to provide families with reassurance, practical support and peace of mind while giving their little one the safest, most loving care possible. Hi there, Friend! I became a doula, because I realized my passion for prenatal care, birth, and postpartum support was not departing after my own experiences. My goal is to be able to help and support other women in my community. I desire to have them experience excitement and confidence in themselves that I hope leaves them encouraged. I have been through three pregnancies myself and have walked alongside many friends and family members journeys. I live in the tranquil countryside of Northern NJ, about 5 minutes away from the borders of Upstate NY and PA and only 90 minutes away from NYC! My husband of 10 years and myself were born and raised in Sussex County. We love where we live as it is quiet, beautiful, and allows us to continue our dreams of one day having our own homestead. We look forward to raising our three beautiful children here as well. As a collegiate business major and previous elementary/middle school educator, communication, organization, learning, and teaching are very important to me. Volunteering my time frequently allows my empathetic attributes to selflessly serve others and walk alongside my neighbors, peers, friends, and family. In my free time, I love being outside and active with people near and dear to me. I love to garden, take care of our chickens, cook, bake sour-dough, play board games, take hikes, and watch the occasional football game! When it is just my husband and I, you would find us reading or enjoying a nice conversation by the fire or outside in nature on the deck! I cannot wait to connect with you and hear about your journey into motherhood! Through communication, support, and love I am confident and hopeful to be able to come alongside you so you can experience strength, dignity, and laughter in all your maternal moments! XOXO
