I experienced my first birth at 12 years old and knew from then on that I wanted to be involved in birth work and babies. After reading Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth during my first pregnancy, I was introduced to the term “doula” and knew that I wanted to be one. With the birth of my second child and having a doula, I KNEW that this was my calling. I am especially passionate about working with families of color and other marginalized communities that need support during pregnancy and beyond. I believe that everyone and anyone should have access to doula support. I am excited about the opportunity to support families in their birth and post-partum journey! Shortly thereafter, I returned to the New York publishing and theater world, later moved to British Columbia to pursue degrees and a career in arts education, birthed my two favorite humans, and then moved to the Bay Area, California, where I was welcomed into the Jewish professional community. Throughout my movement in these roles, I never stopped thinking about what life would be like as a Doula. It took some time, but here I am, pursuing a decades-long dream. And when I'm not reminiscing about my own transformational career path, or working with growing families across the Bay Area, I'm still singing my children to sleep (even the one who's now taller than me).

My journey in birth work started at age 12, when I had the unique experience of catching my little sister. At age 22, I started my work as a volunteer doula in Vermont, serving members in the community who lacked support. My early volunteer work gave me a deep understanding of how hospitals function, and how to work with medical staff towards the best possible outcomes for parent and child. In 2023, I was trained and certified through DONA, with mentorship by Penny Bussell Stansfield and Dr. Teri Nava-Anderson.
