I’m a passionate and experienced parent who knows firsthand how magical - and sometimes overwhelming the newborn stage can be. I had a doula for my own births, and that experience opened my eyes to just how beautiful and capable the human body is. I’ve always been drawn to the process of birth and early parenting, and I’ve loved every stage of being a mom, from breastfeeding all of my babies to babywearing, co-sleeping, and fully embracing the joys and challenges of the newborn period. My philosophy as a postpartum doula is rooted in gentle, intuitive support that honors both baby and parent. Lara Esrey (they/them) is a queer non-binary full spectrum doula & educator. They offer doula support for birth, postpartum, abortion & loss. They also teach childbirth & postpartum preparation prenatal classes, offer lactation support, and are a community herbalist. Lara is trauma informed and approaches this work from a person-centred standpoint.

Hi! My name is Ella and I am a birth and postpartum doula serving primarily the Hamilton, Haldimand/Norfolk, & Brantford areas. I have always had a passion for all things pregnancy, birth and babies. I found my passion for birth work while searching for my own doula for the birth of my son last year! I truly believe that birth can be a calm, peaceful experience with the proper education and preparation.
