Sam will be our go to doula for any future pregnancies! With Sam’s support I was able to achieve the most healing vbac experience. Sam was an absolute blessing for us during my pregnancy and labor. Every doubt and anxiety I had was met with positivity and reassurance. She made me feel empowered to make my own decisions and trust my body. She helped me to get into a positive mindset for my birth and I truly don’t think I could have done it without her help. Sam really believed in me and my ability to achieve the birth I wanted even when I did not. She went above and beyond for us and really educated herself for my particular birthing experience and provided us with hand tailored resources and handouts so that I could feel confident and empowered in my choices. From our very first meeting I just felt comfortable with her. The extra small things that she went out of her way to do like greeting us with a gift basket when we first met only scratch the surface! You can just really tell she loves what she does. Her presence brought so much comfort to my partner and I during my labor. For over 20 hours Sam offered continuous support from pain relief techniques during the unmedicated parts of my labor to mental support during tough decisions, and to the emotional last postpartum goodbye visit. Sam is an exceptional doula and I can’t say enough good things about her! She feels like part of our family now and will always hold a special place in our lives from now on.

When I met Sam earlier this year, I didn’t even know what a doula was. Was it like a midwife? Weren’t doulas just for rich people? Wouldn’t it be weird to have a stranger witness such an intimate moment as childbirth? Boy, was I wrong on all counts. From the beginning, Sam was there for me—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. She supported me through some of the most stressful parts of pregnancy and taught me so much along the way. When Braxton Hicks and other complications arose, Sam was only a call away with reassurance, advice, and answers. But Sam truly shined during labor—and wow, did she glow. My labor was particularly difficult; I couldn’t walk or get up, which meant a lot of the usual "active labor" techniques weren’t possible. Still, Sam adapted. She never missed a beat. She stayed right by my side, especially when others weren’t able to be. She was my advocate and my voice when I didn’t have one. Being high-risk, my pregnancy came with a lot of unknowns. Sam didn’t pretend to know everything, but she learned what she needed to know and handled it all with grace. She remained calm, confident, and supportive through it all—and helped me stay that way too. Even after my baby boy was born, Sam didn’t leave right away. She stayed until she knew I was surrounded by family and well cared for. This was after more than 22 hours of labor, during which she hardly slept. I couldn’t have asked for a more attentive, loyal, and compassionate doula. By the time I gave birth, Sam wasn’t just a doula—she had become a friend.
