I my name is Ashley Allen, I fell in love with the thought of birth and babies at the age of six years old when my first niece was born. By the time I was 18 I had 10 nieces and nephews and have had the privilege of helping my sister with her last three babies into this world this helped me realize that this was the path I knew I was going to love and thrive in! I was a competitive gymnast for many years, after hurting myself enough I went into coaching for 4.5 years and fell In love with the sport all over again, finding what technique worked with what kid was a passion of mind. Coaching challenged me to grow in so many amazing ways and ways that I think make me an amazing doula. After graduating high school the Lord took me out of coaching, shorty after is when I pursed my dream in birth work!! When I am not at a birth you will find me, at church, out on the ranch chasing an animal that got out, jumping out of an airplane, in the gym, running, holding the newest member to my massive family or finding the best Mexican restaurant in town! I became a doula to truly make a difference! I am very passionate about what I do and this is not a job for me this is truly about women having a voice for themselves and their baby, knowing how to use it, and being educated so that they can make informed decisions! I had 3 c-sections because I did not know how or what to say! I never want women to have that birth experience. Birth is supposed to be the most rewarding and beautiful thing you do not the most scared and horrific thing you go through! For me, working with families and supporting them during life’s most special moments has always been my thing. My journey started in my teen years when I took my first human development class, and when I began nannying. As a nanny I worked with toddlers and children with disabilities in my local area. I loved working with these children and I just knew I was meant to work with families. In my adult years I have worked as a daycare director leading Spanish curriculum, and supporting families through pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. I have undergone many years of training and learning to become the full spectrum doula that I am today. Becoming a mother myself opened my eyes tremendously and it is what reminds me why I do what I do. My desire to meet families where they are, help them tie the loose ends, and hold space for them during these special and transforming moments.
