I’m a travel ready (anywhere in the USA - domestic/international travel) CACHE Certified Newborn Care Specialist and Certified Postpartum Doula with experience caring for newborns since 1996. My specialty is helping babies settle into their own predictable rhythms through responsive, individualized care, safe sleep hygiene, and gentle, developmentally appropriate sleep conditioning. I combine decades of hands-on experience with evidence-based newborn care and parent education, with the goal of supporting healthy sleep while helping parents feel confident caring for their baby.

Recent review

As a first-time mom and someone who really does not function well without sleep, postpartum was probably what I was most nervous about... (especially after having a necessary C-section!) I interviewed a couple different postpartum care teams and found the Newborn Dream Team immediately made me feel at ease. The first few weeks after giving birth were honestly a lot. Between recovering from my C-section, figuring out life with a newborn, and not having family in town, I was much more anxious and overwhelmed than I expected to be. I cannot thank Danielle, Pamela and Abbey enough for being there for us during that time. They were so helpful in those early weeks, not only with the baby, but with helping us figure out what worked for our family. They answered all of my questions, gave me reassurance when I needed it, and helped me feel more relaxed and confident as a new mom without ever making me feel like I didn't know what I was doing. I was breastfeeding, and they were so supportive of that while also helping us introduce a bottle. They always let us lead with what we felt most comfortable with and never made us feel pressured to do things a certain way. And honestly, being able to get some much-needed sleep knowing our baby was safe and in such good hands was *priceless.* They also helped us establish a really great routine and healthy sleep habits, and our baby was sleeping through the night by five weeks! We will miss Danielle and Pamela SO much, but it makes me so happy knowing they're always in our corner. I truly cannot recommend Newborn Dream Team enough. They made those first few weeks so much easier and more enjoyable, and I am so grateful we found them. 🤍

My name is Alyssa, and I’m a labor and postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families in San Diego as they navigate the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I bring a calm and nurturing presence to every family I work with, blending my knowledge of physiological birth with tools for emotional and physical support. I’m also an herbalist and love incorporating nature’s remedies into my care, whether it’s for postpartum recovery or soothing moments during birth. Over the years, I’ve worked with countless clients, helping them feel empowered and informed every step of the way. My goal is to create a space where you feel confident, cared for, and deeply supported as you welcome your baby into the world. When I’m not attending births, you can find me creating postpartum care rituals, exploring ways to honor this sacred season, or enjoying the beauty of San Diego. I’d love the opportunity to connect and learn more about your unique vision for birth and beyond <3

I have worked as a Nanny for 17 years and I'm a mother to 4 of my own who are now adults. I work with a local postpartum doula agency but I am able to take clients that I meet on my own. Like you! I am registered on Trustline with a clean background, and CPR certified. I have completed 2 DONA workshops, Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula, but still working on my certification. I am a certified Childbirth Educator through Cornerstone Doula Training. The services I provide are: *Childbirth Education from a physiological standpoint and evidence based information. *Postpartum Doula support for overnights or daytime schedules. What that includes is a list created with you. Like many of us who have decided to become Doulas, I would like to provide the support and resources that I would have enjoyed. I have vivid postpartum memories of struggling to get through each day while absolutely sleep deprived and so stressed that I'm doing everything wrong. My goal is help you rest, feel nourished, and supported! I know that each parent and family are unique! My goal is to learn from you how can I support you. I'm not going to walk in assuming that I know how you feel or what your needs are. Every person is different! I can not recommend Heather enough. She helped me through one of my most vulnerable times and became a key player in my breastfeeding success. Heather accurately identified tongue, lip, and cheek ties in my daughter and helped shed light on why we had been having feeding issues. She supported us through our decision to get her ties revised and helped us navigate her recovery. Heather is an expert in her field and continues to be a main source of support with my breastfeeding journey. I am so happy we found Heather and would recommend her whole heartedly to anyone who finds themselves overwhelmed or struggling with breastfeeding.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my bio, my certifications are immense in incorporating everything that I’ve learned in my own life, though taking the time to be certified in newborn care specialist, sleep training and conditioning, lactating specialist, and Doula. On a more personal levelI love being outdoors, cooking and creating a safe and healthy environment through both creativity and knowledge. My life is also been deeply shaped by resilience. During Hurricane Katrina, while at a family reunion, my family suffered complete devastation losing eight homes. Despite this tragedy, I felt compelled to help. I was deputized by the Red Cross And remain in Louisiana for three months where I developed and lead a disaster assessment team specializing in logistics, a system still in use today. Strangely enough this experience is what first led me into caregiving a career where it is I have never felt more alive or purposeful. Were I do not hold a specific degree my education spans multiple international schools, including the American school in London, the American school in Hampstead. A suburb of London. I am one that’s practices, kindness, offers, love, guidance and embrace patience and tolerance, as mentioned above. I love teaching through art and making every day moments a learning experience. With young children, I narrate what I am doing, always asking permission and showing respect even with a newborn I will gently explain what it is. I am doing in every step. I believe communication and respect starts from the very beginning.

I’m a dedicated postpartum doula and proud mom of two boys, with a deep passion for supporting families during the early stages of parenthood. My journey working with children began in a Montessori setting, where I cared for little ones ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old. That experience, along with years of babysitting, helped me develop a strong understanding of child development and a genuine love for nurturing young children. Before becoming a postpartum doula, I worked as an overnight nanny, supporting families through those tender and often exhausting newborn nights. It was during this time that I realized how meaningful it was to care not just for babies, but for parents as well. Wanting to provide more intentional, informed support, I pursued professional training to become a postpartum doula. Now, I’m honored to walk alongside families as they adjust to life with a new baby—offering compassionate care, practical guidance, and a calm, reassuring presence during this special transition.

Andrea is truly one of the most insightful doulas I could have asked for. She completely exceeded all of my expectations, from her knowledge and guidance with breastfeeding to how incredibly helpful she was throughout the night with my newborn. She also has such a warm, inviting energy that made me feel comfortable and supported from the start. I’m so grateful for her support and would absolutely book with her again!

We truly cannot put into words what Rosalie meant to our family during those early newborn weeks. She came into our lives at a time that felt overwhelming, emotional, and exhausting, and somehow brought a sense of calm, confidence, and steadiness that we didn’t know we needed so deeply. From the very beginning, we trusted her completely. The way she cared for our baby was so gentle, intuitive, and full of love, it felt like he was safe with someone who truly saw him. She didn’t just help us get through the nights, she helped us become parents. She guided us through feeding challenges, soothed him through the hardest moments, and taught us how to better understand and care for him. Her presence made everything feel more manageable. We were counting down the minutes until she would come. She was also incredibly intuitive when it came to me. She could sense when I was feeling overwhelmed or unsure and always met me with reassurance and guidance. Whether it was encouraging me to call the pediatrician when something didn’t feel right or simply reminding me to trust myself, she supported me in a way that went far beyond just caring for our baby. Saying goodbye to her was incredibly hard. We genuinely had to brace ourselves for it that entire week. There is something so special, and honestly emotional, about watching someone love and care for your baby the way Rosalie did. It’s not something you forget. We are forever grateful for her. She made one of the most vulnerable seasons of our lives feel supported, safe, and even beautiful in moments. Any family would be beyond lucky to have her, and we will always hold her in such a special place in our hearts.

My name is Val, and I have over two decades as a birth doula in San Diego, California. I have a health care background and value this aspect of bringing my experience to all the births I support. My philosophy for birth, is to remember that a woman will always remember how she was spoken to, and treated on the day of her giving birth. I love this work, it is a calling and truly an honor to be invited to a birth. I had a mom tell me one time, while she was searching for a doula, after asking her sister who had used a doula for her second birth, responded with the following: "Using a doula is the difference of flying first class compared to coach!" This mom went on to have a fantastic experience.

Recent review

Where do I even begin. Val gave me the most incredible birth experience, and I truly don’t think I could have done it without her. You can immediately tell she has a strong background and a lot of experience. There’s a calm confidence about her that made me feel safe from the very beginning. It gave me so much peace of mind, especially as a first-time mom who was honestly SO nervous and scared to give birth. She was patient, attentive, and unbelievably kind. In moments where I felt anxious or unsure, she grounded me. She empowered me in a way I didn’t know I needed. She made me feel strong and capable. What I loved most is how she truly catered everything to me. She listened, she adjusted, she showed up exactly how I needed her to. And she did it all while feeling so personable and warm. I cannot thank her enough for the role she played in bringing my baby into the world. I will absolutely want her by my side for any future births. 🤍

Hi, Im Andrea. Founder of Maternal Haven, Birth + Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Creator of the Haven Circle™ Model of Care. I support families through the deeply transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Guided by the Haven Circle’s core pillars of connection, continuity, restoration, and community care, my approach blends holistic healing with evidence-informed practices to create a grounded and nurturing experience for every family. I specialize in providing intentionally curated labor, birth, and postpartum support that honors both traditional wisdom and modern perinatal needs. My work bridges the gap between these worlds ensuring families feel truly held, informed, and empowered as they step into parenthood. Through Maternal Haven, I offer care that is restorative, culturally mindful, and deeply personalized. Because your journey deserves a circle of support that evolves with you, every step of the way. The Values That Shape My Work: I’m a first-generation Latina raised in a multigenerational household where caregiving was shared, community was central, and support was collective rather than individual. I grew up with a deep understanding of the “village”, mutual aid, interdependence, and emotional presence as foundational to well-being. Those early values shaped my path into caregiving. I began my work supporting families as a nanny during children’s most formative years, and later transitioned into birth and postpartum doula care, childbirth education, and mentorship for emerging doulas. Across each role, one belief has remained constant: meaningful support is built through continuity, not urgency. How I Support Families: My approach sits at the intersection of emotional wellness, cultural humility, and practical guidance. I honor ancestral knowledge while also supporting families as they navigate modern perinatal systems and healthcare structures. Through Maternal Haven, I offer support that evolves as families’ needs change, providing steadiness across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum rather than isolated moments of care. A Circle of Care That Grows With You: Whether I’m facilitating a prenatal session, supporting someone through labor, or offering quiet presence during postpartum recovery, my intention remains the same: to help families feel informed, supported, and confident as they step into parenthood. Your journey deserves care that is thoughtful, restorative, and personal. Care that adapts as you do. Care that walks with you, every step of the way.

I have a difficult time finding the right doula for me and i was losing hope, until i was matched with Andrea and i felt like i had a huge relief. My pregnancy was full of ups and downs but Andrea made sure from the start that she was fully by my side and never made me feel alone. Her empathy and comprehension was something that i was definitely looking for in a doula because in my first pregnancy i felt unheard and put to the side while i was in labor with my first daughter. This time around anytime i had any fears or doubts Andrea was always quick to be comforting and supportive with her words. She is such a sweet and special person to me who i will always cherish because she is one of a kind. Durning my labor with my second daughter when it was calm she made everything so peaceful, even when things changed and the energy shifted and i was scared because my body went into fetal ejection reflex and pushed my daughter out at 7cm Andrea never stopped caring for me and going above and beyond to support me and help me ease my anxiety. She also saved my sanity and gave me peace doing overnights and taking care of my newborn while i recovered from my birth. Words cant describe how grateful i am for Andrea she is the best doula out there.

Noa is THE BEST. My husband and I met her a couple of weeks postpartum when she appeared at our doorstep at 10p sharp as our overnight doula so we could sleep. Not only did Noa take excellent, loving care of our daughter and leave our house *spotless* in the morning (dishes, bottles, tidying, pump parts, laundry -- you name it, she did it), but she quickly became a wonderful friend and confidant. She brought joy, calm, and laughter into our house during a time that could be so emotionally fraught, and, boy, did we appreciate her for it. We had so much fun! What a far cry from my first postpartum experience, where we had no support and white-knuckled our way through. I know Noa is no longer doing overnight postpartum care, but I am confident that Noa brings the same energy, thoughtfulness, care, and diligence (and good humor) to labor. It's who she is. We actually first met Noa when she taught our labor class, and it was clear during the day-long course that she would be an amazing labor doula. Not only does Noa know her stuff, but she connects with moms and partners to empower them and help them accomplish the labor experience they want. If we were to have another baby, I would 1000% want Noa by my side during delivery.

I cannot express how much Shaina helped me in my pregnancy and birth experience. This was my first time giving birth. For our initial virtual visit, she shared so much information on different types of stretches, movements, and hospital jargon that was very beneficial beforehand. I ended up being induced due to a medical reason, and I don't think I could have given birth without Shaina. She help me with contractions by using a tens machine, she used pressure points, massaged my shoulders while I was in pain, reminded me to relax and how to breathe. When you're in a high stress moment like birth, you forget all of the things you learned, ex. Breathing/moving, so it was helpful to have someone to remind you of the helpful tools! Most importantly, she was an amazing advocate. I consulted her when it came to making decisions during labor. She was so knowledgeable, she would often advocate on my behalf to the nurses to get me what I needed! She didn't take no for an answer! I was so grateful to have her be part of my birth experience, and I would highly recommend her to any woman who wants to feel supported in birth!

— Julie, review of Shaina Moreira September 2026

We are so grateful we found Neffie! Before working with her, our son was waking up almost every hour screaming and crying, and it honestly felt like having a newborn all over again. He needed our constant touch and presence to fall asleep and would even get up and bang on his door in the middle of the night until we went back in. After months of big changes, including potty training, traveling, and transitioning to a toddler bed, we knew we needed help. Neffie created a detailed, gentle sleep plan that was realistic for our family and Liam’s strong-willed personality. She communicated with us daily, was always responsive by text, and quickly helped us troubleshoot every new challenge Liam threw our way. Slowly but surely, we were able to remove the constant touch he needed, and he learned to fall asleep independently. What we appreciated most was that Neffie’s approach was responsive and flexible. When Liam stopped making progress, she had already prepared us for how we could change the approach, so we never felt lost or like we were starting over. She gave us the tools and confidence to create healthy sleep boundaries while still being gentle and responsive to Liam’s needs. Seeing how far he came was incredible! We would absolutely recommend Neffie to any family struggling with sleep, especially those with a strong-willed child.

— A. Daisy Philizaire, review of Nefertia Jones September 2026

Neffie provided amazing sleep support for my five-week-old and us as parents. She came for two nights and provided us with resources, patience, and guidance on how to help our baby no longer only need contact sleep. She is sweet, genuine, and my baby loved her! She also provides postpartum services.
