About me

The doula meets with the birthing person and their support person to discuss their prenatal needs, birthing preferences, and birthing environment choices - home birth; birthing center; or hospital. The doula also providers referrals to the appropriate medical personnel (primary care, OBGYN, Midwife, specialists, CLC (certified lactation counselor, IBCLC ( International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), etc) when it is determined that any issue(s) are out of the scope of practice of the doula. The doula facilitates communication between the birthing person and the medical team, helping to ensure that the birthing person's preferences and concerns are heard and understood

Shamon made me feel completely supported and cared for. From our very first virtual meeting, she created such a calm, reassuring presence through every message, video call, and check-in. She was always available to answer my questions, help me prepare mentally and emotionally, and remind me that I wasn’t alone in this journey. During labor, her guidance helped me stay focused, confident, and grounded. Her words of encouragement and gentle coaching made a world of difference. I loved knowing that Shamon was there for me. She took notes on how I was feeling and kept track of information I was given from the doctor at prenatal appointments.
