Hello there! My name is Rachel Sultzer and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Educator and Certied Postpartum and Infant Care Doula located in Jacksonville, Florida. My passion for child and family care stems from my start as a childcare provider over twenty (20) years ago. Most recently my role as full time nanny quickly reaffirmed my strength in not only caring for infants and small children, but providing comprehensive family support - especially to new and nursing mothers. After serving as a volunteer “Infant Cuddler” for at-risk infants at the UF Shands neonatal intensive care unit, my dedication to helping children was deepened even more. After watching one of my mamas struggle with breastfeeding and experience first hand the the lack of support and education from the community of people surrounding her, I knew I wanted to do more to help; I had to do more. In July 2017 I received my Lactation Counselor Certification from Healthy Children Project Inc., Center for Breastfeeding. Under the guidance and mentor-ship of Kelly Googe, with Womb to World Doula Services, I have been able to work with lots of mamas in the Jacksonville area. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Breastfeeding Educator my mission is to educate the public on the importance of breastfeeding; to encourage and empower women to make decisions that work for them and to provide guidance and support during a such a delicate but amazing time in a mama’s life. My motto will always be a happy and healthy mama will always equal a happy and healthy family! As a caregiver I have seen so many families struggle during the fourth (4th) trimester, defined as the first twelve (12) weeks after birth, and even beyond. As a Cerified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor I strive to enable your family to find confidence by providing everyone with non-judgmental unwavering support, evidence based education and most importantly listening ears. My goal is to validate concerns, provide solutions, and offer guidance based on your family’s needs. I want all of my families to feel supported during the fourth (4th) trimester and beyond. Adding a new little one to the mix can be as equally rewarding and challenging. Let me be there to guide and support you through your new normal! My role is not limited to just mamas and their babies; I am also there to aid the entire family with this new and exciting transition.

I am the owner of Root & Recovery Holistic Studio. For the past 16 years, I have practiced as a Licensed Massage Therapist, helping individuals understand their bodies, manage physical discomfort, release tension, and experience the restorative benefits of therapeutic touch. Over the past five years, I have also had the privilege of supporting families throughout their pregnancy and birth journeys. What began as a passion for helping expectant mothers feel comfortable, informed, and supported has grown into a deeper calling to provide comprehensive doula care. Throughout my career, I have learned that our bodies are wonderfully capable, but they also benefit from preparation, education, movement, and compassionate support. That philosophy is at the heart of my approach to birth. A Different Approach to Birth Preparation As a Certified Body Ready Method® Pro, Body Ready Birth Teacher, and Better Birth Pro, I bring together my background in therapeutic bodywork with specialized education in birth biomechanics and childbirth preparation. My approach goes beyond traditional emotional support. I believe that preparing for birth involves nurturing the mind, understanding the body, building confidence, and learning how movement and positioning can support the natural processes of labor. Through my doula services, I offer: Prenatal Preparation: Personalized education, birth preferences, emotional support, and practical preparation for labor. Birth Biomechanics & Body Ready Method®: Movement, positioning, and body awareness to support comfort, mobility, and physical preparation. Therapeutic Prenatal Massage: Specialized bodywork to ease muscular tension, encourage relaxation, and support physical well-being. Partner Education & Involvement: Practical tools to help your chosen support person feel confident and actively involved. Continuous Labor Support: A reassuring presence, comfort measures, encouragement, and advocacy for your informed choices. Postpartum Support: Compassionate guidance and nurturing care as you recover, bond with your baby, and adjust to your growing family. Your Birth. Your Choices. Your Experience. I believe there is no single perfect way to give birth. Whether you envision an unmedicated birth, choose medical pain management, plan a hospital delivery, or experience an unexpected change in your birth plan, my role is to help you feel heard, respected, informed, and supported. My goal is not to direct your birth experience, but to help you enter it with knowledge, practical tools, confidence, and a trusted person by your side. I want you and your family to feel that you are active participants in your birth journey, not simply passengers along for the ride. Let's Prepare for Your Birth Together

Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Outside of my work, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I enjoy reading and playing video games, and I have two cats and a leopard gecko. I have a Facebook page for my business where I regularly post at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069593215044&mibextid=ZbWKwL

I can't begin to say enough good things about Cari. From the moment we first began messaging, to our first meeting, all the way up to the amazing unmedicated birth of our second daughter. We are not strangers to an unmedicated birth, as that is what we did with our first daughter, but Cari helped make the experience with our second not only even better but much calmer and secure all around. Cari was informative in not just the potential outcomes of the birth we WANTED, but she made sure to take the time to cover what-if scenarios. What we were looking for in a Doula was someone who was willing to take the time to get to know us well before baby #2 was born, but also someone with a kind vibe/aura (IYKYK), who could advise us on some additional labor coping movements and massage/pressure points, and she did all of the above plus more. If we have another baby, she will undoubtedly be our Doula again. I genuinely recommend her on all levels. Even after our daughter was born, she stayed with us in the birth center for hours until I felt well and recovered enough for her to leave us (and this was past 1 am). She captured some absolutely precious, beautiful, and raw photos of our birth, on top of doing a newborn photoshoot for us. Themed and set where we wanted, yet again surpassing all expectations. She includes postpartum support as well, and she is so sweet when she came for her postpartum visit, she brought a batch of the most AMAZING lactation cookies ever (and might I say they sure worked for me!!). Cari will undoubtedly take the time to listen and form a plan that you want while informing you of all possibilities and taking care of you like a member of her own family, honestly. And who doesn't love a fellow nerd? Look no further. She IS the doula for you. THIS is the sign you're looking for.
