Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula. Adding, that I would do well in that field due to my caring nature. After more research, I began seeing the need for this service and fell in love with this industry. In 2019, I became a Dona trained Birth Doula, obtained certifications in: Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Postpartum Doula(PPD), Basic Life Support(BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), CPR, First Aid and trained in Benkung Belly Binding. Hi there, I'm Jen, the doula and photographer! I offer maternity, birth and newborn sessions. I am married to my wonderful husband with whom I share seven energetic kiddos, ranging in age from 1 to 12 years! I have always been interested in birth. My mom used to teach childbirth classes at the hospital when I was little, and I always loved going with her. I got pregnant at 17 and had to deliver at a birthing center due to financial reasons. I was TERRIFIED to give birth without any medications. Long story short I did it and I felt so empowered! This is when my passion grew even stronger about birth and learning the truths behind it. I ended up having my other 2 kids at the same birthing center because I fell in love with it. I had my first hospital birth with Belly Buddy and that was a new experience that I was able to grow my knowledge in. I would love to be your Doula and help empower you. Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it.
